The Pact Iot The Story So Far

The Pact Iot The Story So Far Cover
In 1976 in an abandoned ammunition dump dug deep into a mountain somewhere in the Rhineland, two magicians, one English, one German announced the formation of a magical order with the celebration of a Mass of Chaos in the company of a couple of dozen other magicians. Soon after we emerged from the bowels of the mountain a localized tornado hit immediate area. This was but a small portent of things to come.

We left the mountain with no particular idea other than to form an Order such as had never existed before, that would break the existing mold and provide a vehicle for Chaos Magic. A year later some of us met in a splendid Austrian castle and formally arranged ourselves into the Magical Pact of the Illuminates of Thanateros, using as a basis a simple structure of four grades and five offices that I had devised in the meantime. Since then the Pact has evoked a veritable whirlwind of activity, and at the time of writing counts some sixteen temples in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia and the USA. A meeting for all members is now held annually, usually at the same original castle (Burg Lockenhaus, Austria, 2.-6.August 1991 followed by an Exercitium open for all). It is always a wild experimental gathering during which plenty of hard work is being done. In devising a structure I sought mainly to avoid the mistakes of previous established orders such as the Golden Dawn and the Ordo Templi Orientis. A certain division of labor is essential just to ensure that people take responsibility for organizing that which needs organizing. Beyond that it seems an absurdity to form an order on the basis of one or a few persons adopting the role of great guru almighty. Their bluff must eventually be called, and such organizations are unlikely to advance beyond whatever set of ideas they start with. Crowley had to break with the Golden Dawn to make his own contribution to magic, and Austin Spare had to break with Crowley in his turn. Such progress through schism is an idiotic waste of time and effort. Any contemporary order which wishes to remain alive, exciting and innovative requires a structure or at least a communication network to exist at all, but dogmatic ideas, rigid hierarchies and fixed teachings and beliefs will kill its creative spirit rapidly. Thus in the Pact, the individual temples, which are its basic unit, experiment with whatever techniques, rituals and ideas they please, and exchange results and inspir-ations through newsletters, magazines, a computerized electronic mailbox system, inter-temple visits and the annual Pact meeting. There is thus a natural selection of ideas. Techniques, Spells and Rituals which are found to be really useful become used and expanded upon whilst the less effective material is forgotten. Those members who enter the Pact bubbling over with ideas are encouraged to put them into use immediately. Naturally in an organization such as this there is less emphasis on discipline than on enthusiasm and creativity. The Pact is more interested in those who can experience magic as a living thing, than in those who can merely follow instructions. Indeed the only power the Pact reserves over its members is the right of expulsion for extreme non-fraternal behavior or for bringing the Pact into danger. The Pact has but two aims. Firstly the pursuit of the Great Work of Magic and pleasures and profits attendant to this Quest. Secondly to act as a Psychohistoric Force in the Battle for the Aeon. To fulfill the first aim we provide communication facilities that enable us to work together and develop our
own magics through the exchange of ideas and information. Esoterics should also be fun.

If you don't enjoy doing magic you are probably doing something wrong. The profits are entirely whatever rewards individuals can make from their own magic. There are no membership fees and the annual Pact meeting is free and funded by seminars and exercitiums that some members hold for the general public plus any members who wish to attend. The somewhat grandiosely phrased Psychohistoric action in the Battle for the Aeon, consists mainly in spreading the philosophy of magical paradigm where we can, in print and by word of mouth, although we occasionally perform acts of magic to hasten things along.

The magical techniques and philosophy of the Pact are mainly Chaoist in inspiration. Chaos Magic calls for a concentration of the actual mechanics at work when planning acts of evocation, divination, enchantment, invocation and illumination. It is techniques and intention that are important in successful magic. The most Important Techniques are those which adjust subconscious belief. Subconscious belief controls both the self or selves and the world. So long as this is never forgotten one can structure a ritual or spell with just about any form of symbolism from Tibetan Tantra to Icelandic Rune lore. And indeed, where else but in the Pact could you find magicians experimenting with Runic Sex Magic? Well perhaps you will find other examples. I notice the eclectic approach becoming ever more pervasive in esoterics. Insights and ideas are now poached shamelessly from one so-called tradition to another, but this is how it should be, and Chaos Magic boldly encourages the meta-tradition which takes anything and everything that is effective from all traditions to create an explosive mixture.

So, on with the pursuit of the Great Work of Magic, with whatever forms of Techno-Shamanism, Tantric Goetia or Greco-Egyptian Quantum Physics we can make work for us. There are worlds within us, and the universe is infinitely more weird, I'm sure, than all our theories put together. Hopefully, some of the explosives the Pact cooks up can propel us a little further into these strange domains. I have no idea how this years Pact meeting will unfold, except that there will be magicians from many lands seated in a huge circle ready to offer their specialties in everything from Buddhist sorcery through Norse wyrdcraft and Chaos mathematical investment schemes to Voodoo and Ice Magics. We have the technology and we're crazy enough to use it! (by Pete Carroll)

The Supreme Invocation To The Lord Of The Universe

The Supreme Invocation To The Lord Of The Universe Cover
Issued by the Thelemic Temple and Order of the Golden Dawn (Novus Ordo Aureae Aurora). For daily use of the Magician

Adoration be unto Thee, Lord of my Life: for Thou hast permitted me to enter thus far into the Sanctuary of Thine Ineffable Mystery; and hast vouchsafed to manifest unto me some little fragment of the Glory of Thy Supreme Being. Hear me, Thou Vast and Mighty One; hear me, and grant that my Will be done! Grant that I may ever uphold and exercise Thine Holy Way of Liberty, as a god who is free to do his True Will amongst the legions of the living; and grant unto me the comprehension of aught that may bring me nearer unto Thee. Teach me, Lord Horus, more and more of Thy Mystery and Thy Mastery. Let each day and night and hour bring me nearer, near unto Thee. Let me aid Thee in Thy Great Work upon earth, so that I may one day become truly united unto Thee in all Thy Infinite Glory of Light, Life, Love and Liberty.

Come Thou forth unto me, O Thou Mighty and Vast One, that art the Lord of the Aeon, Thou Supreme and Terrible God who makest the gods and death to tremble before Thee, and whose Law is Do What Thou Wilt. O Thou Heart of my Soul: O Thou Self-Shining Flame: O Thou Glory of the Light of the Sun: Thee, Thee, I invoke! Come Thou forth unto me, my Lord; to me, who am Thy vain reflection in the mighty sea of matter. O hear me, Thou Lord of the Gods: hear me in the habitations of Eternity: and come Thou forth unto me to purify and consecrate to Thy Great Work my mind and will. Without Thee I am nothing. In Thee I am All-Self Existing in Thy Selfhood to Eternity!

Come Thou forth unto me, O Thou Most Hidden Light! O Thou Heart of my Soul, Thee, Thee, I invoke! Come Thou forth unto me, O Thou who art my very Selfhood, mine Essence, my Light; and do Thou guard me and guide me through the manifold paths of Life, that I may at length become one with Thy Supreme and Terrible Essence! O Lord of the Universe, grant Thou that upon me may shine forth the Light of my True Soul; and let me be guided by the help of mine Holy Angel unto the attainment of Thy Throne of Glory.

And for this day, teach me this one thing: how I may learn from Thee the Mysteries of Thy Sacred Magick of Thelema: that I may obtain the Knowledge and Power of my True Will, and thus attain to the Knowledge and Conversation of mine Holy Guardian Angel; and how best I may use that Knowledge and Power to assist my fellow men and women to accomplish Thy Great Work upon earth.

And finally, I implore Thee, to let there be a link of unity between us, that I may ever seek, and seeking, obtain Freedom and Knowledge in Thee who art my very Selfhood, that I may duly partake of Thy Supreme Essence of Power to attain the Grand Philosopher's Stone, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom and Perfect Happiness.

O Lord, may my Will which is Thine be done!

Necronomicons Aplenty

Necronomicons Aplenty Image

Book: Necronomicons Aplenty by Donald Tyson

"A REVIEW OF THE DONALD TYSON NECRONOMICON MATERIAL"

Thanks to the work of occultist Donald Tyson in recent years, there is a much longer list of items with 'Necronomicon' branded across them than previously. Unlike several of the previous efforts, Tyson's items are not presented as hoaxes, or provided with spooky back-stories about vanished manuscripts or forgotten traditions. Instead Tyson plainly says that he has taken the forms and tropes of HP Lovecraft's fictional mythos and used them both to write new occult fiction and in an effort to create usable occult methods. At least, that's where he has ended up. The earlier efforts in the series are much more plainly horror tales, using real occult history and ideas to present images of the kind of 'forbidden rites' that HPL only hints at.

Donald Tyson is a thoughtful and experienced occultist. He is producing valuable scholastic work in his editions of Agrippa, and his pop magic titles are often unique and interesting, firmly founded on classic magical art. He has also shown a real streak of interest in the macabre, in his publication of the remarkable oddity 'Liber Lilith'. One would hope to see some interesting and useful occult weirdness in Tyson's take on Yog-Sothothery. Does he succeed? Sort of.

There are five items in Tyson's Mythos material:

NECRONOMICON: THE WANDERINGS OF ALHAZRED

This was the first, and still my favorite, of the lot. The whole idea of 'the Llewellyn Necronomicon' was just too funny in the first place, but seeing Tyson's name on it gave me some hope. In this case I wasn't disappointed.

Lovecraft's description of the Necronomicon changed over the course of his tales. His original imagining seems to have placed it as a kind of combination of a book of wonder-tales (if dark and evil wonder-tales) a la the Arabian Nights, and a travelogue and description account rather like Herodotus. In this case the difference between Alhazred (Lovecraft's fictitious author) and Herodotus is that the Mad Arab finds the Hideous Reality behind the apparent myths and customs of mortals - the material that becomes the so-called Cthulhu Mythos. Later, as Lovecraft investigated a little actual occultism, the descriptions started to resemble the medieval grimoires. Most of the fakes and hoaxes called the Necronomicon have focused on the grimoire version, providing lists of gods and spirits, texts of rites and conjurings, etc.

Tyson's Necronomicon harks back to the earlier version. He opens with a straight narrative, presented as Abdul Alhazred's account of his youth, his fate and his subsequent wanderings across the early-medieval middle eastern world. He plainly and directly uses Mythos names and descriptions, referring directly to Leng, R'lyeh, Yuggoth, Cthulhu etc. He ases the Middle Eastern settings well, introducing the 'ghuls' as combined Arabic and Lovecraftian beings, and taking us beneath the pyramids for some tasty sorcery. Throughout the text are sprinkled bits of arcane lore and ritual, sigils, signs and incantations, including Tyson's take on just what an Elder Sign might be.

Tyson also begins as he intends to continue, presenting the core of the cults of the Great Old Ones as a kind of anti-cosmic Gnosticism. In this interpretation, the GOO represent the return of the universe (or the 'world') to its pre-manifest state, an end to suffering and joy, to filth and pomp. This is scary (cosmic-aly horrific, in fact) to 'normal' awareness, which can only perceive the destruction of the body and the mind. The cosmic devourers come to return all to the stomach of eternity... spooky, kids...

This has been covered in a very sophisticated way by biblical scholar and leader of the Cthulhu Prayer Breakfasts Robert M. Price, and by author Richard L Tierny. (Do read Drums of Chaos, for the best depiction of Jesus as Wilbur Whateley ever...). In my opinion Tyson manages nothing so interesting. He will spend the next books developing this theme, to, I'm sorry to say, little effect.

However I did enjoy the atmosphere and imagination of this book. Tyson does have a feel for Lovecraft, and for the nasty end of sorcery. I found myself experiencing several real chills through his images and ideas. For this and for its clear difference from any other Necronomicon pastiche, I give this volume pretty high marks.

ALHAZRED: AUTHOR OF THE NECRONOMICON

This book is an expansion of elements of the narrative in the Necronomicon. Unlike that book, which pretends to be Lovecraft's famous book, this is plainly a novel. As far as I can tell it is material that Tyson found himself inspired to write having completed his first book in the series. In general there's simply too much of it, and not enough plot. There are various attempts at 'wonder stories' and horror vignettes, but it just doesn't succeed half as well as the first book, which is half as long.

THE NECRONOMICON TAROT

Tyson is a learned occultist, and while he has never written extensively on the tarot, he certainly knows his way around. In this deck he applies recent tarot motifs to the Mythos, with mixed results.

The kit is pretty nice. Sturdy box that holds the items well, deck, book and weird-ish veil bag. As usual, Llewellyn's art and production standards are high.

However I wasn't satisfied by the art itself. It's certainly well-executed, with full-color paintings for each card.

In general I think the art has a rushed feel to it, with less detail than one might hope for. The frames and backs of the cards have some nice, detailed work - too bad they didn't give the artist time for the same in the images themselves. As it is, the art in general isn't as good as a good Mythos card-game card. In fact I was most reminded of the illustrations in a role-playing manual, which disappointed me. A Mythos tarot is a chance to show the Lovecraftian figures in a hieratic, occulty mode, and that's lost entirely here.

As you might expect, I agree with some of Tyson's attributions of the mythos figures to the trumps, and disagree with others. In order to get 22 images, Tyson draws on the quasi-Egyptian-Babylonian setting of his Necronomicon, and specific new monsters/gods from those books. So we find Bast and Amun, and the Beast of Babylon. Some trumps become chances for some pretty cool Mythos illos - such as the Lovers as a marriage between a Deep One and his human bride, or Strength as a battle between a flying crinoid Elder Thing and a rebellious shoggoth. Others simply fail to achieve any hint of Lovecraftian cosmic scariness, like Azathoth as a fat lumpy flute-player for the Fool. Some images are incomprehensible without the context of the earlier book, such as the 'Well of the Seraph' for the Hanged Man. Of course some exposition is provided in the hefty book that comes in the set.

Allow me to just be annoyed at Cthulhu as 'the Devil', and that without even a nod to the form of the original card. The Dreaming One could have looked cool squatting like Baphomet, one arm up, one down, with a deep one and a human chained at his feet. But no...

The suit cards are arranged to tell a Mythos type tale as they proceed. Wands are a tale of ill-fated Atlantean commerce with the Deep Ones. Cups are an Egyptian tale of love and the gods. Swords tell a Middle-Eastern tale of violence and plotting, and Disks display sorcerers and magicians in a tale of necromancy (along with Tyson's version of the Elder Sign). These are all moderately successful, and produce images that mostly support the traditional interpretations of the cards.

All in all this is a nice piece of occult Lovecraftiana. As a tarot deck, I think it's too off-kilter to be of much use for divination, and just wouldn't do meditations or other occult work with these symbols. Like the whole series apart from the first book, I think it fails to be either spooky or disturbing enough to capture Lovecraft's essence, but Mythos fans will enjoy some of it.

o The Grimoire of the Necronomicon

The series began with two plainly fictional treatments. The tarot then crosses between fictional work and traditional occultism. Here Tyson undertakes a book of formal ritual based on Mythos tropes.

We talked about the Mythos as Gnosticism, and here we see it fully employed. The introduction proclaims, in the voice of Tyson's Mythos cultist, "...the great work of the Old Ones (is) the cleansing of this world that will alone restore her purity, and allow her elevation back to her former high estate, from which she fell into this pit, where she is ceaselessly defiled by life." This is, to me, just the sort of scary-weird idea that informs some kinds of world spirituality. In the hands of some systems, like the aghoris of India, it gets pretty spooky indeed. Unfortunately Tyson then runs, it seems, up against Llewellyn's editorial policies. He simply can't recommend the eating of hallucinogenic spiders or the use of corpses in worship and magic in a Llewellyn practical book, and is forced to fall back into much more prosaic symbols.

Like several occultists before him, Tyson attempts to fit the Great Old Ones (affectionately called the GOO) into the pattern of the seven classical planets. This is how he arranges it:

Azathoth: Sun

Nyarlathotep: Mercury

Yig: Saturn

Shub-Nigurath: Venus

Cthulhu: Mars

Dagon (and Hydra): Moon

Yog-Sothoth: This should leave Jupiter for ol' Yog, but the text mentions Caput and Cauda Draconis, along with the sun, again. However in the later rites given for the days of the week Yog-Sothoth is worked on Thursday, so that's clearly what the author meant.

One of Tyson's nicer innovations is the notion of the Twelve Idiot Gods who dance around Azathoth who, in his madness, has become the demiurge. These he attributes to the zodiacal signs, providing names and sigils allowing them to be summoned for practical magical work.

In fact sigils and arcane glyphs are provided for all the GOO and other beings. For these Tyson uses the glyph system that he teaches in his book "Familiar Spirits". Each English letter is represented by a simple geometric form, and the letters of the spirit's name are then arranged to create glyphs and sigils. This all works pretty well, although the very straight-line art used in the text robs the glyphs of any sense of creepiness.

Tyson makes an effort to make the ritual system seem unique. The temple is a seven-station circle, with each planet and GOO arranges with a 'standing stone' and its ritual symbol. The oddest part are seven metal 'keys' - simple geometric shapes made of iron or brass that are struck on the stones to produce invocatory tones. The book goes so far as to propose the form and structure of a magical "Order of the Old Ones" no doubt in an attempt to capture some of the 'strange cults' element of the Mythos.

The actual ritual work, after plenty of build-up, is pretty slight. There is a seven-day round of rites to invoke and offer to the GOO. There is also rather an odd section giving advice for working with each of the Old Ones. Amusingly, Tyson claims to provide the Long Chant, the invocation to open the Gates of Yog-Sothoth which was sought by Wilbur Whateley in "The Dunwich Horror". He has constructed an Enochian incantation with content based on his Gnostic ideas that might be sufficiently spooky given a nicely established atmosphere.

The Grimoire of the Necronomicon just doesn't have the requisite atmosphere to be very interesting in a Cthulhu Mythos context. I can only hope that the spiritual ideas in it don't get traction among occultists, since I find the 'darkly shining world' to be much more holy and interesting than some imagined pleroma. If these books ever get a re-edit, it would be cool to see the first volume bound together with this one, creating a Necronomicon that covers all the Lovecraftian bases.

o The Gates of the Necronomicon: A Workbook of Magic

In the process of doing all this Lovecraftian writing, we must assume that Tyson read a lot of HPL, and a lot about HPL. In this volume he dumps his files, providing lists and descriptions of Mythos gods and monsters, human characters, earthly places and fictional/mythic locales. Each category gets a pretty detailed treatment, and Tyson has plainly both read extensively and thought geekishly deeply about each one. All of this is set into a vague ritual and symbolic format of thirteen gates into an unnamed and suggestive Arabian city. Each gate is provided with a stellar correspondence, sigils and key symbols, but they only seem to open up into this cyclopedia of Cthulhu Mythos lore.

In my opinion this book has zero value to those working on a Mythos occultism. Fans of the mythos may find Tyson's insights and descriptions useful, but the job has been done better, in my opinion, by Dan Harms.

So that's the list. Does any of this amount to a serious contribution to occultism or Mythos literature? Maybe. The first volume is really a nice attempt to capture a certain atmosphere, but later books have a knock-off feel to them. The good news is that Tyson hasn't stopped writing good pop occultism as well as doing useful occult scholarship.

Personally, I hope he gets HPL out of his system, and produces more of the sort of evocative occult horror of his Liber Lilith.

As a final preachment, I'd encourage even the geekiest fanboy occultist (and it doesn't get much geekier than me...) not to waste their time with Cthulhu occultism. First of all, Chaos Magic doctrines aside, fiction is simply not the same thing as myth, and the two cannot be effectively interchanged, except for the most short-term and shallow goals. Secondly, while occultists can try their best to make something mystical and Gnostic out of HPL's ideas (and they are his ideas, fictions invented by one man's (or at most a few people's) imagination) the system was never made coherent by lovecraft or his imitators. In fact there was a general agreement that it shouldn't be made coherent, but rather left indeterminate and vague. Thus, efforts to make it clear enough to actually do magic with are generally doomed to fail at capturing the Lovecraftian atmosphere. I suggest finding a real Mythos, and leaving Cthulhu and his lot in the land of entertainment, along with Tolkein's elves.

Llewellyn Secretly Anti Pagan Golden Dawn Witch Hunt Revealed

Llewellyn Secretly Anti Pagan Golden Dawn Witch Hunt Revealed Image
It shocking news this week, Llewellyn author, Donald Michael Kraig, has been using the Llewellyn blog to spread misrepresentations defaming the Pagan-led Rosicruican Order of Alpha Omega. It is highly significant that the Alpha Omega is the only Golden Dawn order that teaches Pagan mysteries in addition to Golden Dawn. This is why our order uses the Greek letters Alpha and Omega as one of its primary symbols.

While not mentioning our order by name, Donald Michael Kraig nonetheless makes it clear who he referring to (defamation "per quod"). Subsequently, Llewellyn has censored all attempts to post any refutation whatsoever in the same venue. Over the past year Llewellyn has also failed to reply to emails protesting anti-Pagan defamation from Kraig on the Llewellyn blog. This is all the more shocking, considering that Kraig and Llewellyn each wield substantial influence in the Pagan community, and thus are held to a higher standard of conduct.

Why is this bizarre behavior happening? It is only understandable in the context of the 20 year Witch Hunt against the pro-Pagan Alpha Omega by agents of the "Christians only" SRIA and the anti-Pagan OR+C. The AO has struggled tirelessly to preserve the rights of Pagans, Jews, Muslims, and Thelemites to Golden Dawn initiation, while the SRIA and OR+C secretly seized control of one Golden Dawn order after the other.

Donald Michael Kraig

In other breaking news, Donald Michael Kraig has been outed as belonging to a Golden Dawn order led by two founders and Grand Officers of the rabidly anti-Pagan "Order of the Rose and Cross." These individuals are also high ranking members of SRIA. One even Supreme Maga of SRIA America! Shockingly, these anti-Pagan group leaders are not only Kraig's friends and GD bosses, but they are Llewellyn authors as well!

This can be easily verified on Internet Archive of the original website of the segregationist "Order of the Rose and Cross" HERE. Their extremely hate filled, anti-Pagan "Manifesto" has been "covered up", but can still be seen HERE. Once the OR+C scandal broke, it rocked the Golden Dawn and esoteric community. The OR+C therefore attempted a cover-up, sanitizing the names of Llewellyn authors from the original list of OR+C founders and Grand Officers!

Does Llewellyn's intimate connection - through Llewellyn authors - with the segregationist SRIA and the anti-Pagan OR+C explain why Llewellyn is allowing Kraig to openly defame the pro-Pagan Alpha Omega on the Llewellyn blog? Does this also explain why Llewellyn has censored all refutation and has not bothered to answer email protesting Kraig's behavior?

One thing is certain:

"THE PAGAN COMMUNITY DESERVES TO BE FULLY INFORMED ABOUT SECRET CONNECTIONS WITH ANTI-PAGAN GROUPS OF BOTH DONALD MICHAEL KRAIG AND LLEWELLYN."

The OR+C scandal involving two Llewellyn authors is compounded by the rampant anti-Paganism in the below cited article, "Golden Dawn or Gotterdamerung, "written by OR+C Grand Tutor and personal friend of these Llewellyn authors, R.A. Gilbert. Note that the ORC has attempted to sanitize this article from its website as well, but has been sloppy. Although the.pdf is no longer available on the OR+C server, the link to it still remains on the articles page, as follows:

Anti-Pagan OR+C Grand Tutor, R.A. Gilbert"HOW CAN WE BEST PRESERVE THE WESTERN HERMETIC TRADITION FOR THE FUTURE? I TRULY BELIEVE THAT INITIATIC ORDERS ANALOGOUS TO THE GOLDEN DAWN ARE STILL NEEDED AND THAT THEIR ROLE IS CRUCIAL IN PRESERVING OUR SPECIFICALLY WESTERN ESOTERIC SPIRITUALITY. WE MUST ALSO RECOGNISE THAT THE TRADITION WHICH REPRESENTS THAT SPIRITUALITY FACES REAL THREATS, both from the growth of RELIGIOUS INDIFFERENCE and from the determined efforts of its SPIRITUAL ENEMIES to capitalise on such indifference, and to undermine the tradition by perverting its ethos and substituting darker and avowedly anti-Christian goals. If we are true to our Rosicrucian principles then we must recognise and strive against those THREATS." - R.A. Gilbert It is obvious, that Gilbert is here espousing an Anti-Pagan, segregationist view of Rosicrucianism. Gilbert makes direct reference to some mysterious "ANTI-CHRISTIAN" THREAT (READ PAGAN? JEWISH? MUSLIM?).

"WHY ARE LLEWELLYN AUTHORS SECRETLY LEADERS OF SEGREGATIONIST, ANTI-PAGAN GROUPS?"

In the same manner that Nazis in Germany did everything they could to eradicate Jews, Christian extremists have for Centuries likewise tried to eradicate Pagans. In fact, the Jewish Holocaust in Nazi Germany bears remarkable resemblance to the Pagan Holocaust at the hands of the Inquisition.

The Jewish and Pagan Holocausts

Sadly, the ugly face of Christian extremism has never disappeared. Whenever Christianity becomes a facade for Nazi style racism it becomes particularly dangerous, expecially when it takes on a Masonic veneer as in the case of the anti-Pagan, segregationist, "Christians only" SRIA and OR+C.

Here in the United States, we are all too familiar with Christian racists using a masonic veneer. The Ku Klux Klan, for example, uses rituals written by Freemason, Albert Pike. Thus, the danger extremoist "Christians only" Rosicrucianism of the SRIA and OR+C is not to be underestimated. We Americans have witnessed first hand how dangerous such fanatical segregationists can truly be.

Racist Christianity Unchecked!

Intolerance masquerading as Christianity should not be taken lightly!Grand Wizard, KKK - Supreme Magus, SRIA

Historically, we find a Black Cross in both the KKK and in German Nazism. Today we we find a similar Black Cross as the primary symbol of a host "Black Cross Rosicrucian" orders including the Christian extremist, SRIA (Anglia), SRIA (America) and the Anti-Pagan OR+C (Order of the Rose and Cross), as well lurking behind Golden Dawn puppet orders already under their control.

German Nazi Black Cross - SRIA America Black Cross

"Two Llewellyn Authors are founders and leaders the anti-Pagan 'Order of the Rose and Cross"

Let us now refute - point by point - the anti-Pagan defamation being spread by Kraig on the Llewellyn blog. This is the sort of refutation that Llewellyn has repeatedly censored on the Llewellyn blog while allowing Kraig to run amok.

Donald Michael Kraig wrote:"If you are interested in the Golden Dawn, as I am, you will have seen a running blog war over the past few years, a war that has intensified over the past few months."Misrepresentation of the anti-Pagan SRIA Witch Hunt against the Alpha Omega as a "flame war" has been for nearly 20 years a propaganda "talking point" frequently used by SRIA/OR+C agents in the Golden Dawn community.

There has not been any "running blog war" over the past few years as Kraig deliberately misrepresents. There has been only a Christian extremist Witch Hunt of defamation against the pro-Pagan Alpha Omega. Our order has merely refuted the propaganda talking points and exposed the "Christians only" extremists waging a veritable Inquisition against the pro-Pagan Alpha Omega. This Witch Hunt is thoroughly documentable in the archives of a bevy of blogs and fora operated by SRIA and OR+C agents in the Golden Dawn community. The really nasty stuff is reserved for a host of "anonymously" published blogs, routinely publicized on the aforementioned blogs and fora, as this week on Pat Zalewski's Yahoo group.

Next Donald Michael Kraig wrote:"One person says "I'm trying to make peace" and constantly attacks others."This is another propaganda "talking point" frequently used by the anti-Pagan SRIA and OR+C in their Witch Hunt against the Alpha Omega.

In reality, the Alpha Omega has tried over and over to make peace. We have launched one peace initiative after the other. We even recently invited Adepts from across the Golden Dawn community to share in the advanced Second Order magick recently released by the Secret Chiefs.

What was the response from GD leaders controlled by the anti-Pagan SRIA and OR+C? First they threatened their members with expulsion if they had anything to do with the newly released Second Order teachings, then released a new book by OR+C founder and Grand Officer, Nick Farrell, brutally attacking the Alpha Omega, rewriting our history, and defaming our founder, S.L. MacGregor Mathers.

This began a barrage of new attacks on the Alpha Omega by agents of the anti-Pagan SRIA and OR+C. Although we have merely cross-posted thier attacks to make a record of the truth available to the public, and refuted each and every talking point...

Donald Michael Kraig has the nerve to claim that it is the Alpha Omega attacking the anti-Pagan SRIA and OR+C that have been persecuting our order for two full decades. Nonetheless, on the Llewellyn blog Kraig repeats the standard SRIA/OR+C talking point:

"One person says "I'm trying to make peace" and constantly attacks others."Ha ha! And Donald Michael Krais says this with a straight face while pretending to be "objective"!

Next Donald Michael Kraig wrote:"One person says the Secret Chiefs are a metaphor and is attacked by those who think they are real."Kraig has turned the truth on its head here once again. In reality, there have been many dozens of posts over the last 60 days attacking the physical nature of the Secret Chiefs of the Alpha Omega as well as the advanced Second Order magic they are sharing with the GD community through the Alpha Omega. This can be easily verified reading the comments section of this blog for articles published over the past two months. We have defended our order's reputation in the comments section of The Golden Dawn blog by cross-posting all of the defamation and refuting it here - so the truth is easy for all to see!

In reality, the Pagan-led Alpha Omega has been under siege by GD operatives of the Christian extremist SRIA and the anti-Pagan OR+C for two full decades now!

All they need to do is stop attacking us, and the Alpha Omega would have nothing left to cross-post and refute!

There is no doubt, however, that these anti-Pagan extremists will continue to attack the Alpha Omega, as they will continue to falsely portray the Alpha Omega as the attacker!

Here is an prediction that does not even require a psychic.

Now that this present article is published, you will witness SRIA operatives all across Yahoo and the blogosphere claim that the Alpha Omega is attacking Kraig and Llewellyn, merely because we have cross-posted Kraigs attacks and refutated them, and have exposed the secret connections between both Kraig and Llewellyn with leaders of the aint-Pagan OR+C!

Next Donald Michael Kraig wrote:"There is fighting over whether a new ritual is complete or partial... Recently, there have been attacks on people over the meaning of the number "4' on the front of a document! Really! That's it. There are insults and name calling over a number."Kraig is being dishonest in the extreme in this above quote. In fact, this quote raises serious questions about Kraig's character. Kraig is not at all objective in this matter as he pretends. In reality, it is the Chief of Kraig's Golden Dawn order who published Part 4 of our secret Alpha Omega 6=5 ritual. This Llewellyn author is also Supreme Maga of SRIA of co-founder and Grand Officer of the anti-Pagan OR+C.

Why publish only Part 4? This was done to support other defamation spread by yet another founder and Grand Chief of the anti-Pagan OR+C, Nick Farrell, who had falsely claimed in his attack book that our founder, S.L. MacGregor Mathers has eliminated all magic from the Alpha Omega, taking it in a purely Masonic direction. They not only profaned our sacred initiation ritual. They even tried to misrepresent it, by publishing only the most masonic part of it!

Here we see direct proof of the Witch Hunt against the Pagan mysteries of the Alpha Omega by Grand Chiefs of the anti-Pagan "Order of the Rose and Cross. We also see both Donald Michael Kraig and Llewellyn implicated in this attack on the Pagan-led through Kraig's secret membership in their order, and by Kraig's deliberately misrepresenting the attack on the Llewellyn blog.

Kraig next mischaracterises our standing up to these anti-Pagan bullies as an "attack" coming from the Alpha Omega! I suppose Kraig is referring to the scholarly essay recently published here by GH Frater Alpha Omega's Sincerus Renatus on his Gyllene Gryningen (Golden Dawn) blog, entitled "Proof that the Profaned AO 6^0=5^0 ritual was only the 4th part of a larger Initition Ceremony."

How on earth does Donald Michael Kraig construe this scholarly article to be a "attack" on his anti-Pagan OR+C cohorts? Sincerus Renautus has raised numerous scholarly objections and is suggesting an alternative hypothesis!

Is Kraig questioning the right of scholarly debate without being misrepresented as an "attack"? If so, Kraig is asking both the Pagan and the Golden Dawn communities to end all free academic speach!

Finally, Donald Michael Kraig wrote:

"Currently, there are several groups claiming to be the Golden Dawn. One has the legal right to use that name (and grant that right to others) in the U.S. A different group has the legal right to do that outside of the U.S."This too is extremely manipulative and dishonest. In reality, Kraig belongs to the Golden Dawn order that is the other party of this very trademark agreement - the GD order controlled by founders and Grand Officers of the Christian extremist SRIA and the anti-Pagan OR+C, which have been persecuting the pro-Pagan Alpha Omega now for decades!

Here is the link to the actual trademark agreement, which Llewellyn first published, then quickly censored on the Llewellyn blog! Instead Llewellyn permits Donald Michael Kraig to to run amok - attacking the Pagan-led Alpha Omega with exactly the same propaganda "talking points" that have been used over and over for decades by agents of the anti-Pagan OR+C and the Christian extremist SRIA!

Donald Michael Kraig and Llewellyn must both cease and desist from publishing further propaganda "talking points" defaming pro-Pagan orders - in this case identical "talking points" used for two decades by agents of the anti-Pagan OR+C and the segregationist SRIA. Not mentioning any specific order in their attacks is not enough. Kraig's and Llewellyn's defamation still remains libel "per quod."

In light of all the above, the question naturally arises and still remains to be answered:

"ARE EITHER DONALD MICHAEL KRAIG OR LLEWELLYN SECRETLY ANTI-PAGAN?"

Finally, the same Llewellyn authors, founders, and Grand Officers of the anti-Pagan "Order of the Rose and Cross" were this year (due to Kraig's influence) invited to speak at PANTHEACON!

The segregationist SRIA and the anti-Pagan OR+C have deeply infiltrated the Golden Dawn community, and have been manipulating it for two decades.

Considering all of the aformentioned information, the question naturally arises how deeply anti-Pagan groups have infiltrated the Pagan community and to what extent they are already covertly manipulating it.

One thing, at least, is certain:

PAGANS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW about the threat posed by covert manipulation of the Pagan community by the anti-Pagan and Christian extremist groups that we have already unmasked manipulating the Golden Dawn community.

Donald Michael Kraig, Llewellyn, and Pantheacon, at this juncture, each owe the Pagan community some straight answers to some very tough questions.

Magic Love Spell

Magic Love Spell Image
For this spell you need a picture of the person you want to fall in love with you or some of his/hers personal objects. You also need to setup your altar and cast the circle. You will have to place three candles outside of the circle, one in front of you and two behind you so that they make a triangle.

Put the picture on the altar.

Light the first candle and chant the following while thinking about the person you love:

"Astarte i invoke you

Oh Goddess of sacred love

Astarte i invoke you

Please feel my pain

Astarte i invoke you

Please bring to me this man/woman!

Bind him/her to me

Bind him/her now

Bind his/her soul to mine!"

Light the second candle and chant the following:

"Zoria i invoke you

Oh Goddess of beauty bright

Zoria i invoke you

Let my body shine

Zoria i invoke you

Let my face be bound to his soul and mind!

Bind him/her to me

Bind him/her now

Bind his/her soul to mine!"

Now light the third candle and chant the following:

"Anteros i invoke you

Oh God of passion and lust

Anteros i invoke you

In his/her soul let burn the fire

Anteros i invoke you

Let him/her sense my desire!

Bind him/her to me

Bind him/her now

Bind his/her soul to mine!"

Take the picture and put it in your wallet or somewhere else but it must always be with you.

Warning: This spell, as all love spells, can go terribly wrong so use it at your own risk.

A Meditation On The Lord Of Wisdom

A Meditation On The Lord Of Wisdom Image
I decided to create visualization and contemplation meditations for the deities, while using essays and less 'worshipful' excercises for the abstract principles. I'll be writing some exercises for the Three Hallows directly. In the meantime here's the partner work to the Earth Mother item given below."

Let the Druid come before the Shrine, and enter a basic trance. Work a simple opening rite and compose the Vision of the Lord of Wisdom, thus:

- Envision the Lord of Wisdom, the Keeper of Gates, before you. See his towering figure, huge above a crossroad in the mist, feet floating above the road. He is slender and strong, dressed only in an open robe of white that billows in the moving air. His face is youthful, but his long hair and beard are snowy white. His left hand is raised, palm forward, and in his right hand he bears a shining white wand with a flame at its tip.

- Around his head shines a nimbus of every color and pattern, filled with every sign and letter of wisdom, shining around his being. His forehead shines with a wondrous light, with a flickering flame in the center. He stands at the crossroad, and you see that every road of it stretches away to another crossroad, and another. At each the Lord stands, in reflection outward, standing at the Center of All Ways, the Fire at the Center of the World.

Make a simple offering of whiskey or incense, or as you can, nine times, as you recite this hymn three times:

Lord of Wisdom
Wanderer on the Roads
Keeper of Gates and Ways
Priest of the Sacred Grove
I make due offering to you

(Offering given)

Because you teach wisdom
Because you guide spirits
Because you reveal secrets
I make due offering to you

(Offering given)

Lord of the Twilight
I worship your cunning
Keeper of Gates
I worship your might
Teacher of Heroes
I worship your wisdom
Lord of Secret Knowledge, inspire my mind with the Elder Ways
Keeper of gates, accept my sacrifice!

Renew your vision of the Gatekeeper and abide for a while in contemplation of that vision. Then proceed thus:

- Contemplate the shining presence of the Lord of Wisdom for a time. When his presence feels real to you then envision yourself seated at the crossroad with the gatekeeper behind you, his aura surrounding and interpenetrating you. You gaze along the roads and you see yourself at every crossing point, your awareness extending outward along the Infinite Paths. Feel your extending presence, out through the whole Web of Worlds. Abide for a while in contemplation of this vision.

- When you are ready, allow the whole vision, the Gatekeeper, the Web and your own form to shrink down and to become equal to your own head. Let the wisdom, knowledge and cleverness, the freedom to pass every barrier be concentrated in you. Feel the presence of the Gatekeeper shining in you, within the boundaries of your seated form. Abide for a while in contemplation of this vision.

- Finally, allow the image to grow again, bringing all the reflections of yourself firmly together in your material presence. Allow the form of the Gatekeeper to grow larger and larger, attenuating to become one with the light and air.

Renew your center, balancing all once again within you, and recite a simple ending charm, such as:

The blessings of the Holy Ones be on me and mine
My blessings on all beings, with peace on thee and thine
The Fire, the Well, the Sacred Tree
Flow and Flame and Grow in me
Thus do I remember the work of the Wise.

Introduction To Magick Crowley 1929

Introduction To Magick Crowley 1929 Cover
I) DEFINITION

Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.

II) POSTULATE

ANY required change may be effected by the application of the proper kind and degree of Force in the proper manner, through the proper medium to the proper object.

III) THEOREMS

1)Every intentional act is a Magickal act.
2)Evey successful act has conformed to the postulate.
3)Every failure proves that one or more requirements of the postulate have not been fulfilled.
4)The first requisite for causing any change is thorough qyalitative and quantitative understanding of the conditions.
5)The second requisite of causing any change is the practical ability to set in right motion the necessary forces.
6)"Every man and every woman is a star".
7)Every man and every woman has a course, depending partly on the self, and partly on the environment which is natural and necessary for each. Anyone who is forced from his own course, either through not understanding him-self, or through external opposition, comes into conflict with the order of the Universe, and suffers accordingly.
8)A Man whose conscious will is at odds with his True Will is wasting his strength. He cannot hope to influence his environment efficiently.
9)A Man who is doing his True Will has the inertia of the Universe to assist him.
10) Nature is a continuous phenomenon, though we may not know in all cases how things are connected.
11) Science enables us to take advantage of the continuity of Nature by the empirical application of certain principles whose interplay involves different orders of idea connected with each other in a way beyond our present comprehension.
12) Man is ignorant of the nature of his own being and powers. Even his idea of his limitations is based on experience of the past, and every step in his progress extends his empire. There is therefore no reason to assign theoretical limits to what he may be, or what he may do.
13) Every man is more or less aware that his individuality comprises several orders of existence, even when he maintains that his subtler principles are merely symptomatic of the changes in his gross vehicle. A similar order may be assumed to extend throughout nature.
14) Man is capable of being, and using, anything which he perceives, for everything which he perceives is in a certain sense a part of his being. He may thus subjugate the whole of the Universe of which he is conscious to his individual Will.
15) Every force in the Universe is capable of being transformed into any other kind of force by using suitable means. There is thus an inexhaustible supply of any particular kind of force that we may need.
16) The application of any given force affects all the orders of being which exist in the object in the object to which it is applied, whichever of of those orders is directly affected.
17) A man may learn to use any force so as to serve any purpose, by taking advantage of the above theorems.
18) He may attract to himself any force of the Universe by making himself a fit receptacle for it, and arranging conditions so that its nature compels it to flow toward him.
19) Man's sense of himself as seperate from, and opposed to, the Universe is a bar to his conducting its currents. It insulates him.
20) Man can only attract and employ the forces for which he is really fitted.
21) There is no limit to the extent of the relations of any man with the Universe in essence; for as soon as man makes himself one with any idea the means of measurement cease to exist. But his power to utilize that force is limited by his mental power and capacity, and by the circumstances of his human environment.
22) Every individual is essentially sufficient to himself. But he is unsatisfactory to himself until he has established himself in his right relation with the universe.
23) Magick is the Science of understanding oneself and one's conditions. It is the Art of applying that understanding in action.
24) Every man has an indefeasible right to be what he is.
25) Every man must do Magick each time he acts or even thinks, since a thought is an internal act whose influence ultimately affects action, though it may not do so at the time.
26) Every man has a right, the right of self preservation, to fulfill himself to the utmost.
27) Every man should make Magick the keystone of his life. He should learn its laws and live by them.
28) Every man has a right to fulfill his own will without being afraid that it may interfere with that of others; for if he is in his proper place, it is the fault of others if they interfere with him.

I) DEFINITION

Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformitywith Will.Illustration: It is my Will to inform the World of certain facts within myknowledge. I therefore take "magickal weapons", pen, ink, and paper; Iwrite "incantations"---these sentences---in the "magickal language" ie,that which is understood by the people I wish to instruct; I call forth"spirits", such as printers, publishers, booksellers and so forth andconstrain them to convey my message to those people. The composition and
distribution of this book is thus an act of Magick by which I causeChanges to take place in conformity with my Will.note: In one sense Magick may be defined as the name given to Science by the vulgar.

II) POSTULATE

ANY required change may be effected by the application of the proper kind anddegree of Force in the proper manner, through the proper medium to the properobject.Illustration: I wish to prepare an ounce of Chloride of Gold. I must take theright kind of acid, nitro-hydrochloric and no other, in a vessel whichwill not break, leak or corrode, in such a manner as will not produceundesirable results, with the necessary quantity of Gold: and so forth.Every change has its own conditions. In the present state of our knowledge and power some changes are notpossible in practice; we cannot cause eclipses, for instance, or transformlead into tin, or create men from mushrooms. But it is theoreticallypossible to cause in any object any change of which that object is capable
by nature; and the conditions are covered by the above postulate.

III) THEOREMS

1)Every intentional act is a Magickal act. Illustration: See "Definition" above. Note:By "intentional" is meant "willed" But even unintentional acts so seeming are not truly so. Thus, breathing is an act of the Will to Live.
2)Evey successful act has conformed to the postulate.
3)Every failure proves that one or more requirements of the postulate have not been fulfilled.

Illustrations: There may be failure to understand the case, as when a doctor makes a wrong diagnosis, and his treatment injures the patient. There may be a failure to apply the right kind of force, as when a rustic tries to blow out an electric light. There may be failure to apply the right degree of force, as when a wrestler has his hold broken, There maybe failure to apply the force in the right manner, as when one presents acheque at the wrong window of the Bank. There may be failure to employthe correct medium, as when Leonardo da Vinci saw his masterpiece fadeaway. The force may be applied to an unsuitable object, as when one triesto crack a stone, thinking it a nut.

4)The first requisite for causing any change is thorough qualitative and quantitative understanding of the conditions.

Illustration: The most common cause of failure in life is ignorance of one's own True Will, or of the means to fulfill that Will. A man may fancy himself a painter, and waste his life trying to become one; or he may really be a painter, and yet fail to understand and to measure thedifficulties peculiar to that career.
5)The second requisite of causing any change is the practical ability to set in right motion the necessary forces.

Illustration: A banker may have a perfect grasp of a given situation, yet lack the quality of decision, or the assets, necessary to take advantage of it.

6)"Every man and every woman is a star". That is to say, every human being is intrinsically an independant individual with his own proper character and proper motion.
7)Every man and every woman has a course, depending partly on the self, and partly on the environment which is natural and necessary for each. Anyone who is forced from his own course, either through not understanding him-self, or through external opposition, comes into conflict with the order of the Universe, and suffers accordingly.

Illustration: A man may think it is his duty to act in a certain way, through having made a fancy picture of himself, instead of investigating his actual nature. For example, a woman may make herself miserable for life by thinking that she prefers love to social consideration, or vice versa. One woman may stay with an unsympathetic husband when she would really be happy in an attic with a lover, while another may fool herself into a romantic elopement when her only pleasures are those of presiding over fashionable functions. Again, a boy's instinct may tell him to go to sea, while his parents insist on his becoming a doctor. In such a case he will be both unsuccessful and unhappy in medicine.

8)A Man whose conscious will is at odds with his True Will is wasting his strength. He cannot hope to influence his environment efficiently.

Illustration: When Civil War rages in a nation, it is in no condition to undertake the invasion of other countries. A man with cancer employs his nourishment alike to his own use and to that of the enemy which is part of himself. He soon fails to resist the pressure of his environment. In practical life, a man who is doing what his conscience tells him to be wrong will do it very clumsily. At first!

9)A Man who is doing his True Will has the inertia of the Universe to assist him.

Illustration: The first principle of success in evolution is that the individual should be true to his own nature, and at the same time adapt himself to his environment.

10) Nature is a continuous phenomenon, though we may not know in all cases how things are connected.

Illustration: Human comsciousness depends on the properties of protoplasm, the existence of which depends on innumerable physical conditions peculiar to this planet; and this planet is determined by the mechanical balance of the whole universe of matter. We may then say that our con-sciousness is causally connected with the remotest galaxies; yet we do not even know how it arises from--or with--the molecular changes in the brain.

11) Science enables us to take advantage of the continuity of Nature by the empirical application of certain principles whose interplay involves different orders of idea connected with each other in a way beyond our present comprehension.

Illustration: We are able to light cities by rule-of-thumb methods. We do not know what consciousness is, or how it is connected with muscular action; what electricity is or how it is connected with the machines that generate it; and our methods depend on calculations involving mathema-tical ideas which have no correspondance in the Universe as we know it. note: For instance "irrational", "unreal" and "infinite" expressions.

12) Man is ignorant of the nature of his own being and powers. Even his idea of his limitations is based on experience of the past, and every step in his progress extends his empire. There is therefore no reason to assign theoretical limits to what he may be, or what he may do.

Illustration: A generation ago it was supposed theoretically impossible that man should ever know the composition of the fixed stars. It is known that our senses are adapted to receive only a fraction of the possible rates of vibration.Modern instruments have enabled us to detect some of these supra-sensibles by indirect methods, and even to use their peculiar qualities in the service of man, as in the case of the rays of Hertz and Roentgen. As Tyndall said, man might at any moment learn to percieve and utilize vibrations of all concievable and inconcievable kinds. The question of Magick is a question of discovering and employing hitherto unknown forces in nature. We know that they exist, and we cannot doubt the possibility of mental or physical instruments capable of bringing us into relation with them. note: i.e., except---possibly---in the case of logically absurd questions such as the Schoolmen discussed in connection with "God"

13) Every man is more or less aware that his individuality comprises several orders of existence, even when he maintains that his subtler principles are merely symptomatic of the changes in his gross vehicle. A similar order may be assumed to extend throughout nature.

Illustration: One does not confuse the pain of a toothache with the decay that causes it. Inanimate objects are sensitive to certain physical forces, such as electrical and thermal conductivity; but neither in us nor in them--so far as we know--is there any direct conscious perception of these forces. Imperceptible influences are therefore associated with all material phenomena; and there is no reason why we should not work upon matter through these subtle energies as we do through their material bases. In fact, we use magnetic force to move iron and solar radiation to reproduce images.

14) Man is capable of being, and using, anything which he perceives, for everything which he perceives is in a certain sense a part of his being. He may thus subjugate the whole of the Universe of which he is conscious to his individual Will.

Illustration: Man has used the idea of God to dictate his personal conduct, to obtain power over his fellows, to excuse his crimes, and for innumerable other purposes, including that of realizing himself as God. He has used the irrational and unreal conceptions of mathematics to help him in the construction of mechanical devices. He has used his moral force to influence the actions even of wild animals. He has employed poetic genius for political purposes.

15) Every force in the Universe is capable of being transformed into any other kind of force by using suitable means. There is thus an inexhaustible supply of any particular kind of force that we may need.

Illustration: Heat may be transformed into light and power by using it to drive dynamos. The vibrations of the air may be used to kill men by so ordering them in speech so as to inflame war-like passions. The hallucinations connected with the mysterious energies of sex result in the perpetuation of the species.

16) The application of any given force affects all the orders of being which exist in the object in the object to which it is applied, whichever of of those orders is directly affected.

Illustration: If I strike a man with a dagger, his consciousness, not his body only, is affected by my act, although the dagger, as such, has no direct relation therewith. Similarly, the power of my thought may so work on the mind of another person as to produce far-reaching physical changes in him, or in others through him.

17) A man may learn to use any force so as to serve any purpose, by taking advantage of the above theorems.

Illustration: A man may use a razor to make himself vigilant over his speech, by using it to cut himself whenever he ungaurdedly utters a chosen word. He may serve the same purpose by resolving that every incident of his life shall remind him of a particular thing, making every impression the starting point of a connected series of thoughts ending in that thing. He might also devote his whole energies to some one particular object, by resolving to do nothing at variance therewith, and to make every act turn to the advantage of that object.

18) He may attract to himself any force of the Universe by making himself a fit receptacle for it, and arranging conditions so that its nature compels it to flow toward him.

Illustration: If I want pure water to drink, I dig a well in a place where there is underground water; I prevent it from leaking away; and I arrange to take advantage of water's accordance with the laws of Hydrostatics to fill it.

19) Man's sense of himself as seperate from, and opposed to, the Universe is a bar to his conducting its currents. It insulates him.

Illustration: A popular leader is most successful when he forgets himself and remembers only "The Cause". Self-seeking engenders jealousies and schism. When the organs of the body assert their presence other by silent satisfaction, it is a sign they are diseased. The single exception is the organ of reproduction. Yet even in this case its self-assertion bears witness to its dissatisfaction with itself, since it cannot fulfil its function until completed by its counterpart in another organism.

20) Man can only attract and employ the forces for which he is really fitted.

Illustration: You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. A true man of science learns from every phenomeneon. But Nature is dumb to the hypocrite; for in her there is nothing false. note: It is no objection that the hypocrite is himself part of Nature. He
is an "endothermic" product, divided against himself, with a tendency to break up. He will see his own qualities everywhere, and thus obtain a radical misconception of phenomena. Most religions of the past have failed by expecting nature to conform with their
ideals of proper conduct.

21) There is no limit to the extent of the relations of any man with the Universe in essence; for as soon as man makes himself one with any idea the means of measurement cease to exist. But his power to utilize that force is limited by his mental power and capacity, and by the circumstances of his human environment.

Illustration: When a man falls in love, the whole world becomes, to him, nothing but love boundless and immanent; but his mystical state is not contagious; his fellow-men are either amused or annoyed. He can only extend to others the effect which his love has had upon himself by means of his mental and physical qualities. Thus Catullus, Dante and Swinburne made their love a mighty mover of mankind by virtue of their power to put their thoughts on the subject in musical and eloquent language. Again, Cleopatra and other people in authority moulded the fortunes of many other people by allowing love to influence their political actions. The Magician, however well he succeed in making contact with the secret sources of energy in nature, can only use them to the extent permitted by his intellectual and moral qualities. Mohammed's intercourse with Gabriel was only effective because of his statesmanship, soldiership, and the sublimity of his command of Arabic. Hertz's discovery of the rays which we now use for wireless telegraphy was sterile until it reflected through the minds and wills of the people who could take his truth and transmit it to the world of action by means of mechanical and economic instruments.

22) Every individual is essentially sufficient to himself. But he is unsatisfactory to himself until he has established himself in his right relation with the universe.

Illustration: A microscope, however perfect, is useless in the hands of savages. A poet, however sublime, must impose himself upon his generation if he is to enjoy (and even to understand) himself, as theoretically should be the case.

23) Magick is the Science of understanding oneself and one's conditions. It is the Art of applying that understanding in action.

Illustration: A golf club is intended to move a special ball in a special way in special circumstances. A Niblick should rarely be used on the tee or a brassie under the bank of a bunker. But also, the use of any club demands skill and experience.

24) Every man has an indefeasible right to be what he is.

Illustration: To insist that any one else should comply with one's own standards is to outrage, not only him, but oneself, since both parties are equally born of necessity.

25) Every man must do Magick each time he acts or even thinks, since a thought is an internal act whose influence ultimately affects action, though it may not do so at the time.

Illustration: The least gesture causes a change in a man's own body and in the air around him; it disturbs the balance of the entire Universe, and its effects continue eternally throughout all space. Every thought, however swiftly suppressed, has its effect on the mind. It stands as one of the causes of every subsequent thought, and tends to influence every subsequent action. A golfer may lose a few yards on his drive, a few more with his second and third, he may lie on the green six bare inches too far from the hole, but the net result of these trifling mishaps is the difference between halving and losing the hole.

26) Every man has a right, the right of self preservation, to fulfill himself to the utmost.

Illustration: A function imperfectly performed injures, notonly itself, but everything associated with it. If the heart is afraid to beat for fear of disturbing the liver, the liver is starved for blood and avenges itself on the heart by upsetting digestion, which disorders respiration, on which cardiac welfare depends. note: Men of "criminal nature" are simply at issue with their true Wills. The murderer has the Will to Live; and his will to murder is a false will at variance with his true Will, since he risks death at
the hands of Society by obeying his criminal impulse.

27) Every man should make Magick the keystone of his life. He should learn its laws and live by them.

Illustration: The Banker should discover the real meaning of his existence, the real motive which led him to choose that profession. He should understand banking as a necessary factor in the economic existence of mankind instead of merely a business whose objects are independant of the general welfare. He should learn to distinguish false values from real, and to act not on accidental fluctuations but on considerations of essential importance. Such a banker will prove himself superior to others; because he will not be an individual limited by transitory things, but a force of Nature, as impersonal, impartial and eternal as gravitation, as patient and irresistable as the tides. His system will not be subject to panic, any more than the law of Inverse Squares is disturbed by Elections. He will not be anxious about his affairs because they will not be his; and for that reason he will be able to direct them with the calm, clear-headed confidence of an onlooker, with intelligence unclouded by self-interest and power unimpaired by passion.)

28)Every man has the right to fulfil his own will without being afraid that it may interfere with that of others; for if he is in his proper place, it is the fault of others if they interfere with him.

(Illustration:If a man like Napoleon were actually appointed by destiny to control Europe, he should not be blamed for exercising his rights. To oppose him would be an error.Any one so doing would have made a mistake as to hisown destiny, except in so far as it might be necessary for him to learn the lessons of defeat. The sun moves in space without interference. The order of Nature provides an orbit for each Star.A clash proves that one or the other has strayed from its course. But as to each man that keeps his true course,
the more firmly he acts, the less likely are others to get in his way.His example will help them to find their own paths and pursue them.Every man that becomes a Magician helps others to do likewise. The more firmly and surely men move, and the more such action is accepted as the standard of morality, the less will conflict and confusion hamper humanity.)

I hope that the above principles will demonstrate to ALL that their welfare, their very existence is bound up in Magick.I trust they will understand, not only the reasonableness, but the necessity of the fundamental truth which I was the means of giving to mankind:
'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.' I trust that they will assert themselves as individually absolute, that they will grasp the fact that it is their right to assert themselves, and to accomplish the task for which their nature fits them.Yea, more, hat this is their duty, and that not only to themselves but to others, a duty founded upon universal necessity, and not to be shirked on account of any casual circumstances of the moment which may seen to put such conduct in the light of inconvenience or even of cruelty.

Like many people I had a deep interest in astrology, I still have it but in a much lesser degree. My curious interest was and is mostly in the aspect of astrology that defines different human characteristics, not the astrology of future prediction.

On this note Seyyed Hossein Nasr writes in his Knowledge and the Sacred, "Human types can also be divided astrologically, here astrology being understood in its cosmological and symbolic, rather than its predictive sense. Astrological classifications, which are in fact related to traditional medical and physical typologies, concern the cosmic correspondences of the various aspects of the human soul and unveil the refraction of the archetypes of man in the cosmic mirror in such a way as to bring out the diversity of this refraction with reference to the qualities associated with the zodiacal signs and the planets. Traditional astrology, in a sense, concerns man on angelic level of his being but also unveils, if understood in its symbolic significance, a typology of man which reveals yet another facet of the differentiation of the human species."

Eager to study human psyche / psychology from occult side, I found astrology very fascinating and used to compare people's characteristics with their astrological sign etc. It was fun, mostly do it yourself project. In the same path of interest I came to learn little bits of Numerology, Palmistry (Chiromancy) and Face reading (Physiognomy).

In the Islamic wisdom tradition, astrology that is used for future prediction is strongly discouraged (to the extent of forbidden) because of disbelief on Divine Will involved in it and its materialistic misuse (partly because of ill motivation of dishonest astrologer who take advantage of people of weak mentality). Immoral practice of astrology is considered as sorcery or black magic. Also those who go to know about their future to an astrologer become fatalistic or passive by their mode of thinking and reliability of another person's knowledge rather than being pro-active. Its also a sign of weak faith in God's grace and Divine Will. Because of all these wisdom Islamic path strongly discourage future prediction astrology or divination.

Just recently I came across a wonderful wisdom shared by late sufi master Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, may God bless his soul, where he explained why horoscope knowledge is not applicable for spiritually evolved souls or to put in another way, to those people who recognize the spiritual reality and not stuck with only material / physical reality of things. This is a subject I had some observations and questions for sometime. I have seen that people who are spiritually evolved or more spiritually conscious, the basic defining characteristics of horoscope are much less likely to apply whereas for others (less spiritually inclined people) the aspects match remarkably well.

In the book of

Bawa Muhaiyaddeen

by the title,

The Divine Luminous Wisdom That Dispels the Darkness

I finally found my answer.

Let me share here with you:

Bismillah.

His holiness Bawa Muhaiyaddeen was answering to a question regarding some astrologer's prediction of certain events. This wisdom was shared in a satsang in the month of November of 1970. Bawa replied, "Brother! There is a thing called horoscope. But it does not suit Wisdom (Arivu). Horoscopes will agree only with Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether. But horoscopes will not suit the faculties of Perception or Feeling, Awareness or Cognition, Practical Understanding or Knowledge, Wisdom and Divine Luminous Wisdom.

The horoscope is for the body, not for the Grace of God. Everything comes within the control of Divine Grace. The twelve signs of the zodiac fall under the four categories of Earth, Fire, Water and Air. With the aid of these you can predict the state of the physical body. But you can't predict the action of the Soul (Atma).

Only a gnostic (gnani) is qualified to speak about the soul. The horoscope can predict the state of the physical body of only Ignorant Souls (Agnanis). But these predictions will not hold good for people with Wisdom or Knowledge (Gnanis). It is where Earth, Fire, Water and Air disappear that the light of Wisdom appears. As long as one is controlled by the four elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air, then egoism, sex, jealousy, illusion and the hypnotic torpor caused by Illusion will exist. There effects are indicated in the horoscope. But horoscopes will not suit a person in a state of Divine Wisdom (Gnana, Gnosis). As far as Wisdom and Truth are concerned, horoscopes are useless.

Child! Horoscopes are interpreted for the use of the five senses and the mind. Horoscopes do not agree and are opposite to the Truth of Wisdom. Horoscopes will not apply to person who are not liable to take future births. If one comes to know the Radiance of the Soul (atma joythi), he will have transcended the physical and sense-world, lost body-consciousness and be able to reverse the world of Truth, the eighteen thousand worlds, and the wold of Grace and Divine Wisdom.

The horoscope only covers the physical world of illusion (maya). If you submit yourself to a belief in horoscope, you will be traversing only the physical world and the sense world. You cannot go beyond. Believing horoscopes will not allow you to traverse the world of Truth and Divine Grace and Divine Wisdom."

Sufi master Abu Said Ibn Abil Khayr, blessed be his soul, was speaking before an assembly and he said, "Today I am going to speak to you about astrology."

All the people listened to the Sheikh with keen interest, wondering what he would say.

The Sheikh said, "Oh people, this year whatever God Wills shall happen, just as last year everything that happened was what God, He is exalted, Willed."

Say: None in the heavens and the earth knoweth (perfectly) the unseen (al ghayb) save God; and they know not when they will be raised. - The Quran, An-Naml, 65
