He Produces The Magic Syllables

He Produces The Magic Syllables Image
There is a marvelous discussion of sacred language in the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel House Made of Dawn (1966) by N. Scott Momaday, in which words are equated with sleight-of-hand. Momaday speaks of his Kiowa Indian grandmother teaching him how to "listen and delight" through her storytelling. With her words, she took him "directly into the presence of her mind and spirit." As he explains, "[S]he was taking hold of my imagination, giving me to share in the great fortune of her wonder and delight. She was asking me to go with her to the confrontation of something that was sacred and eternal. It was a timeless, timeless thing." For his grandmother, "words were medicine; they were magic and invisible. They came from nothing into sound and meaning." As in Genesis, the Kiowa creation story begins with something happening in the nothingness. "There was a voice, a sound, a word-and everything began."

Let us apply Momaday's discussion directly to the art of a magician by positing a few questions:

* Does not a magician want his audience to "listen and delight" in his performance?
* Does not a magician want to draw an entire audience into his presence?
* Does not a magician wish to take hold of people's imaginations and help them to share in the awe and wonderment?

* Does not a magician wish to present a timeless mystery?

By speaking a magic word, a magician most certainly encourages his audience to "listen and delight" as he encompasses them in his presence, takes hold of their collective imagination, and allows them to share in the "wonder." By uttering his magic word, a magician invites the audience to accompany him in confronting something "sacred and eternal... a timeless thing," as Momaday puts it. And when he produces the magic syllables for all to hear, a magician makes every member of the audience an active participant in the miracle. For "in the world of magic, the Word creates."*

* Gahl Sasson, A Wish Can Change Your Life: How to Use the Ancient Wisdom of Kabbalah to Make Your Dreams Come True (2003). Howard Rheingold writes that "We create the world every day when we utter words. Yet we are rarely aware of this awesome act. The power of words is woven so tightly into our daily lives that we hardly ever take time to marvel at it. Our ancestors knew, though: It is no accident that many of the world's religious scriptures assert that the universe was created by a word" (They Have a Word for It [2000]). Migene Gonzalez-Wippler provides an example: "The Kabbalah has a fascinating story to tell on the creation of the world by sound. It says that when God decided to create the universe He was uncertain as to which letter he would use to begin creation. All the letters of the Hebrew alphabet came to God in one long line and each pleaded with Him to use it, naming and vastly exaggerating all its wonderful qualities. God listened to all of them thoughtfully, and finally decided on the letter Beth, which means house or container. With the power of the letter Beth God 'contained' the unmanifested universe and created the entire cosmos" (The Complete Book of Spells, Ceremonies and Magic [1978]).

The Triangle Of Solomon Aka The Triangle Of The Art

The Triangle Of Solomon Aka The Triangle Of The Art Cover
First let me tell you that this information is not teaching you how to Conjure up a Spirit.... it is simply shedding some light on one of the tools used in the Art. So do not write me and try to correct me as to what crap you have read or believe. My knowledge comes from Experience and from a different plane of existence unlike that of yours.
Ah yes... the Triangle of Solomon.... the second most important tool for the Conjuring Magician next to the Magical Circle. The Triangle of Solomon is used in conjunction with the Magic Circle. It is to sit outside the Magic Circle just a few feet away.
What is it and what does it do, you ask?
It is used in the Conjuring of the Demonic or Celestial/Angelic spirits. It is in this Triangle that they will appear and are forced to obey. Why will it make them obey? Because it has 3 Sacred names of God - Tetragrammaton, Primeumaton, and Anaphaxeton one on each side and it has the name Michael (Archangel Michael) which is split into 3 sections MI - CHA - EL. This contains the spirit from escaping and compels them to obey. This does not mean in every case they are going to obey you... but it helps the process. Some Magicians such as the Great Crowley would use Fresh Blood of a Sacrificed animal in the Triangle to attract the Demon. For Blood is the Life force and Demons thrive on it. Crowley would Sacrifice three white doves and pour the Blood into each corner of the Triangle... the Demon would stay until the life force was exhausted, then Demon would leave. This is not something for you to be going out and trying. Those of you whom are reading this are not the experienced and you would only end up possessed or Dead. This is just for your interest and thirst for knowledge.

The Triangle can be found in the Manuscript "The Goetia" also known as "The Lesser Key of Solomon the King". Once again it is one of the most important tools in the Conjuring of Spirits. There are several ways of setting up this Triangle of the Art...
1. You can trace it on the ground in dirt or sand. This is not the greatest way to do it.
2. You can make one out of wood and and paint it. The Triangle and the letters should be black along with the black circle in the middle of it. The interior should be white. You can do it differently if you so choose just as I have in the above picture. The choice is yours. With this method you can set it on the ground and take it with you when you are done with your Magical operation.

These two methods are good for if you are trying to Conjure the Spirit into the Physical.
How big should it be? The best dimensions would be 36"x36"x36".

3. Now... the other method is for Conjuring the Spirit into a Crystal Ball that is placed in the middle of the Triangle or using a Black Mirror in the middle of the Triangle. With this method... one Conjures the Spirit.... but one must Skry or see onto the Astral Plane where then Spirit is. The Mirror or Crystal Ball only acts as a focal point.
You can set up the Triangle on a small round table and place a Crystal Ball in the middle or you can prop up the Triangle so that it is standing up and Gaze into the Black mirror... just as you see in the picture above. Once again... you must be able to Skry or should I say, have Astral Vision... that is... to see onto the Astral Plane. Those whom have not developed this ability will have no success. This takes much practice of Crystal Gazing or Skrying with the Black mirror which is something you can do without conjuring any Spirit and develop your Astral Vision and Psychic Senses.

Anyway... now you have a little more knowledge to save for a day when you are ready to use it.

How To Use Magick With A Straight Face 6 Religion

How To Use Magick With A Straight Face 6 Religion Cover
The religious rendition of magick is prayer. Although they are different things, the principles are similar. Techniques that are effective for one will work very well in the other. In fact, they use many common symbols. One could say that magick is secular prayer.

Prayer works when "God answers it." This is entirely in line with the metaphysical explanation. You can say that the Higher Self is God or your connection to God. This is simply a different way of expressing the same ineffable principles. You can adapt
anything here to fit into your views. Don't let the way these concepts are phrased put you off. Feel free to interpret this as much as you like in order to make it acceptable and usable to you.

Regardie Cult Manifesto

Regardie Cult Manifesto Image
I. THE ISRAEL REGARDIE CULT MANIFESTO

In breaking news today, SRIA/OR+C (reconstructionist) Golden Dawn orders across the Internet published a "Regardie Cult Manifesto," listing the various Golden Dawn groups which together form a political and religious cult built around the person of Israel Regardie.

Astonishingly, these groups today unwittingly outed their intimate relationship as "de facto" trademark lisencees of the other party that the Alpha Omega has a trademark settlement agreement with, the leaders of which are also SRIA leaders and founders and Grand Officers of the anti-Pagan and anti-Semitic "Order of the Rose and Cross," the de facto "Third Order" of the Regardie Golden Dawn Cult. The only other signatories of the Manifesto were Llewellyn authors and their wives who may have been mislead about the way what they were signing was going to be misprepresented.

This is quite surprising, since these groups and individuals have pretended to have no relationship with the other party of the trademark settlement agreement, in order to defame the AO in an attempt to violate the non-disparagement clause of that agreement, attempting to libel the Alpha Omega with impunity by using prohibited "back doors."

This proves beyond the shadow of any doubt the ongoing manipulation of the Golden Dawn community by these parties and their agents, who have now been outed behind the Witch Hunt against the Alpha Omega for two entire decades!

Today's Regardie Cult Manifesto, was published simutaneously on the same host of blogs and Yahoo fora that have been used over and over to attack the Alpha Omega with literally thousands of misrepresentations, ad hominum attacks, and other libelous statements for two entire decades.

Interestingly, both SRIA/OR+C defamation agent Peregrin Wildoak and anti-Pagan OR+C founder and Grand Officer, Nick Farrell, each today misrepresented the Regardie Cult Manifesto, as follows:

Peregrin Wildoak wrote:"The mass celebration also shows the depth and collegiate spirit of the Golden Dawn community. The folk listed below are simply a small representation of the community, showing a diverse range of interests, backgrounds and Orders."

Actually, the Regardie Cult Manifesto shows only the reconstrtuctionist faction of the Golden Dawn community and inextricably links to said party - all those who have feigned independence in their constant misrepresentation and defamation attacks on the Alpha Omega.

Nick Farrell, wrote:"IF YOU HEAR THAT THERE ARE FLAME WARS BETWEEN MEMBERS OF THE GOLDEN DAWN, YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AT THIS LIST. THEN YOU WOULD REALISE THAT HOW MANY OF THE MODERN GOLDEN DAWN ORDERS ARE WORKING TOGETHER AND ARE FRIENDLY." ACTUALLY, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE NON-GD AUTHORS AND THEIR WIVES, THE REGARDIE CULT MANIFESTO IS SIGNED BY ALL ONE GROUP: THE OTHER PARTY OF THE TRADEMARK AGREEMENT and their "de facto" licensees who have feigned "independence" in attacking our order, but have been now been conclusively linked together in the Regardie Cult Manifesto.

This is a great breakthrough in ending the Golden Dawn Witch Hunt against the Alpha Omega as it LEGALLY proves who has been behind the libel and defamation all along, in clear violation of signed agreements as well as of applicable laws.

The Dark hand of the racist SRIA, and the anti-Pagan and anti-Semitic OR+C, together with the other party of the settlement agreement, have now all been conclusively linked - not only to all of the public blogs and fora attacking the Alpha Omega continuously now for two decades, but - as pointed out by GH Frater SR above - also to the ANONYMOUS blogs that have attacked our order for 20 years with the most vile defamatoin imaginable. Moreover, in addition to their defamatory propaganda, the hypocrisy of these parties feigning to "condemn flame war" has been fully exposed as well.

Finally, why have Nick Farrell, and leaders of the other party STILL not spoken out to explain why they are founders and Grand Officers of the anti-Pagan, anti-Semitic, segregationist Order of the Rose and Cross?

Despite an avalanche of red herrings, the silence is deafening!

II. TRUTH! IS THERE AN "ISRAEL REGARDIE" GOLDEN DAWN LINEAGE?

The publications of Israel Regardie have engendered a host of modern, American groups on the Internet calling themselves "Golden Dawn," but having no connection to the original Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, founded in Europe in 1888. These groups have created a Golden Dawn political and religious cult of personality centered around the person of Israel Regardie.

The teachings of these Regardie-based groups derive almost without fail, entirely from the Golden Dawn material published by Israel Regardie, which dead-ends partially through the Adeptus Minor (5=6) level. In a desperate move to give themselves an air of legitimacy, certain Regardie-based groups have deliberately created a myth of a "Regardie Golden Dawn lineage." Such a notion, however, is highly problematic.

Israel Regardie knew that he had no authority to initiate or grant a charter to anyone and honestly admitted this on numerous occasions, as for example in the attached letter. To begin with, Regardie was never even initiated in the Golden Dawn but rather only in the schismatic Stella Matutina, founded by former Golden Dawn Adept turned rogue, R.W. Felkin. Moreover, Regardie was never granted dispensation to initiate anyone by the G.H. Chiefs of the Stella Matutina and certainly had no authority to grant any sort of charter or even to consecrate a Vault of the Adepti.

Fully aware of these facts, and although he had no authority or lineage to do so, Israel Regardie nonetheless did consecrate a Vault of the Adepti in 1982 in order to initiate his student, Cris Monnastre, into the Adeptus Minor (5=6) grade. The highly misleading Manifesto on reconstructionist blogs and fora today was celebrating the anniversary of this event.

Regardie's publications, together provided fertile soil for a myth of a "Regardie Golden Dawn lineage" to be deliberately cultivated by certain Regardie-based groups under the control of the "Christians only" SRIA and OR+C following Regardie's death. It should be noted that, in his life, Regardie only had four studenats. These were Cris Monnastre, William Kennedy, Larry Epperson, and Alan Miller (Christopher Hyatt). Regardie never endorsed any "Regardie-based" Golden Dawn group or order, although this imprimatur has been putatively and groundlessly claimed by a variety of organizations following his death, including those listed on the "Regardie Cult Manifesto" published today.

One could potentially argue with some legitimacy that Israel Regardie has become the progenitor of his own occult school with its own lineage deriving exclusively from Israel Regardie, as is the case with numerous lineages deriving from teachers in Zen and Tibetan Buddhism in the East. In this limited sense, the Regardie-based groups could perhaps honestly claim a "Regardie lineage." Dishonesty enters and public confusion arises, however, when Regardie-based groups deliberately attempt to conflate such a "Regardie lineage" with a "Golden Dawn" lineage, which by his own clear admission, was never Regardie's to bestow. Here are Israel Regardie's own words in this regard:

"You have my blessing - - which is all I can give you. I have no authority, you must remember, I am simply the editor of the Golden Dawn material. Beyond that, I am nothing whatsoever." - Israel RegardieHere is a facsimile of the entire letter from Israel Regardie setting the record straight himself - that he had no Golden Dawn lineage or authority whatsoever to transmit to anyone. Those who are building a political and religious cult of personality around Regardie have no real basis for this, according to Regardie's own words!

Magic The Spell Of The Shell

Magic The Spell Of The Shell Image
THE SPELL OF THE SHELL

White Magic Spells Chants

To perform this spell, you must find a suitable shell in

shallow water. Take the shell and dry it thoroughly. Next,

place a symbol of your desire upon the surface of the shell.

The symbol must be made with a substance which will easily

wash off in water.

Place the shell upon the shore, so that the Tide will bring

waves across the shell. Take care to note the phase of the

Moon (waxing moon for the gain of something, waning for the

dissolving of something
). When the shell is in place, draw a

triangle in the sand, enclosing the shell completely.

The symbol upon the shell must be facing upwards (toward the

Moon
). Meaningful words, or phrases, may be placed upon the

shell also, or simply written in the sand (inside the

triangle
).

Finally, give the words of enchantment: (toward the moon)

Goddess of Moon, Earth, and the Sea,

Each wish in Thy name must come to be.

Powers and Forces which Tides do make,

Now summon Thy waves, my spell to take

Leave the area now, and the spell is set. Once the waves

come, then your wish will be taken out to the Old Ones. It

will usually take about 7 days for a Lunar spell to begin to

manifest, but can take as long as 28 days.

This type of magic is what we call "little works", and

belongs to the folk-magic level of Witchcraft. There are, of

course, much more involved spells, and such. But, I do love

the simplistic beauty of a spell like this.

To Stop Slander Or Gossip

To Stop Slander Or Gossip Cover
At night, light a small fire in a cauldron or whatever you have available to contain the fire. Write on a piece of paper that is 3" x 3" the word RUMORS and the rumors that are being spread about you. Do not write the names of those who are slandering you. You do not want to harm then and suffer the consequences with karma. Be thinking of these lies going away never to return as you draw an X with a dark marker across the paper. Toss the paper into the fire and repeat the following words 3 times…

"Rumors, slander, standing stout,
with this X, I cross you out.
I toss their words into the fire,
All these lies no longer hire
All bad things done and said,
Leave my life, be gone, be dead!
All the evil that they say,
Make it all go away!
Rumors carry me no more,
Be gone, be dead, be no more!
SO MOTE IT BE!"

Sit and concentrate for a few minutes on all the bad gossip going away. The extinguish the fire.

Magick 09 Astral Projection

Magick 09 Astral Projection Cover
Astral projection (OOBE, out of the body experience) is a popular area of occult literature; for traveling to see other worlds and places while the physical body sleeps or is entranced is an exciting notion. Astral projection is not dangerous. It is as safe as sleeping. Most dreams are probably unconscious astral projections, anyway. Although there has been quite a bit written on the subject, astral projection is difficult for many people. The main difficulty is the tendency to forget dream consciousness upon awakening. Accordingly, the successful practice of astral projection requires work.

Modern psychology discounts the idea of actual OOBE (that the spirit temporarily vacates the physical body). However, the idea is very ancient. The Tibetans have an entire system of yoga (dream yoga) based upon astral projection. And here we have an import-ant assumption: you are involved in an OOBE (at least to a degree) whenever you dream. What sets it apart from a full OOBE is your hazy consciousness during the experience and poor recall afterwards. Many people forget most of their dreams completely. Learning astral projection requires a kind of inner mental clarity and alertness.

Dreams are a door to the subconscious which can be used for psychological and spiritual insight, and sometimes for precognition. Dream content is influenced by external sounds and sensations. For example, a loud external noise (such as a train) will likely appear in your dream (if it doesn't wake you up!). Dreams are also influenced by events of the previous day, by your moods, and by suggestion. Everyone normally dreams 4 or 5 times a night (about every 2 hours). The longest dreams occur in the morning. Everyone dreams. You are more likely to remember the details of your dream when you first wake up. By keeping a dream diary you will improve dream recall. Have writing equipment or a tape recorder at your bedside for this purpose; also a light which isn't too bright. Suggest to yourself several times before you go to sleep, "I will awaken with the knowledge of a dream." Then when you do awaken, move quietly (sometimes just turning over drives the idea away). Remember first, then write the dream down, and then add as many details as possible. The next day check for objective facts and expand if you can (by remembering 'what happened before that'). Once you start remembering your dreams in this way, it will become easier to do so. (If you are unsuccessful at this, and *really* want to remember your dreams, you could
arrange for someone to sit by your bedside all night long with a dim light on. Then when he sees your eyes moving back and forth -- rapid eye move-ments, a sign you are dreaming -- he can wake you and ask for a dream report.)

Forms Of Astral Projection

Astral projection may be subdivided into three basic types: mental projection, astral proje-ction (proper) and etheric projection. And your OOBE may shift between them. Mental projection is really simple clairvoyance ('remote viewing'), and 'traveling in your mind'. Imagination plays a key role. The experience of mental projection is not particularly vivid, and you will more likely be an observer than a participant. Nevertheless, mental projection is an important 'way in' to astral projection proper.

During mental projection and astral projection you are able to travel through solid objects, but are not able to act directly upon them or to move them (if they are in the physical world). This is not true during etheric projection. Whether it is simply subconscious expectation, or whether it is a true etheric projection which in theory means that part of your physical body has been relocated with your projection (the etheric or vital part) may be difficult to determine. Etheric projections generally travel at or very near the physical world. There are even cases reported (very, very rare ones) in which the entire physical body is transferred to another location (teleportation), or cases in which the physical body exists and acts in two separate places at once (bilocation)!

But our primary interest is astral projection proper and mental projection to a lesser extent. Astral and mental projection are not confined to the physical world. Travel in the mental and astral realms is feasible, and often preferred. Nor are astral and mental projection restricted to the realm of the earth (you could even go to the moon and planets).

States Of Consciousness

The electrical activity of the brain has been observed and classified with EEG (electroen-cephalograph) equipment; signals picked up from the scalp by electrodes, then filtered and amplified, drive a graph recorder. Brain activity has been found to produce specific ranges for certain basic states of consciousness, as indicated in 'hz' (hertz, or cycles/ vibrations per second):

delta -- 0.2 to 3.5 hz (deep sleep, trance state),
theta -- 3.5 to 7.5 hz (day dreaming, memory),
alpha-- 7.5to 13 hz (tranquillity, heightened awareness, meditation),
beta -- 13 to 28 hz (tension, 'normal' consciousness).

As you can see, some form of physical relaxation is implied in the alpha, theta, and delta consciousness. These states are in fact reached through deep breathing, hypnosis, and other relaxation techniques. OOBE occurs during these states, and delta is probably the most important for it.

The problem is really, as we have said, one of maintaining mental awareness and alert-ness while experiencing these altered states. Experimental subjects hooked to an EEG do not show a discrete change from drowsy to sleep; it is very gradual.

At the threshold between sleep and waking consciousness is a drowsy condition known as the hypnogogic state. OOBE seems to occur during this state, or a variant of it. By careful control of the hypnogogic state (not going beyond it) it is possible to enter OOBE directly.

Basic Techniques

Most methods of astral projection are methods of conditioning. Some form of trance or altered consciousness is always involved. No one ever projects consciously while fully awake (some may think that they do). Although there are many techniques used to prod-uce an astral projection, they boil down to ten of them. They all sort of overlap.

1) Diet-- Certain dietary practices may aid in OOBE, especially at first. These include fasting, vegetarianism, and in general the eating of 'light' foods as discussed in a previous lesson. Carrots and raw eggs are thought to be especially beneficial, but all nuts are to be avoided. Over-eating should be avoided. And no food should be eaten just before an OOBE attempt. If you intend to practice during sleep, for example, allow 2 to 4 hours of no food or drink (except water) before bedtime. In general, we see here the same kind of dietary restrictions advocated for kundalini yoga.

2) Progressive muscular relaxation--This is one of the basic methods used in hypnosis and self-hypnosis. Physical relaxation can assist one in attaining the requisite trance state. These techniques involve beginning at the toes and tensing, then relaxing the muscles, progressively up the entire body.

3) Yoga and breath-- Yoga, mantra, and breathing exercises similarly aim at physical relaxation. The practice of kundalini yoga is particularly relevant, since it is concerned with altered consciousness. In fact the arousal of kundalini requires a similar state of conscio-usness to OOBE.

4) Visualization --This involves a type of extended clairvoyance or picturing of remote surroundings. If you can experience the feeling of being there, so much the better. Although this technique is essentially mental projection, it is possible to deepen mental projection into astral projection through (you guessed it!) visualization. Crowley taught a similar technique: a) visualize a closed door on a blank wall, b) imagine a meditation symbol on the door, c) visualize the door opening and yourself entering through it. And J.H. Brennan describes similar techniques wherein the door is shaped and colored like a tattva, or alternately, a chosen tarot card is visualized and the student visualizes entering into it.

5) Guided imagery - In many respects similar to visualization. Except in this case, there is a guide (or perhaps a voice on tape) directing you by means of descriptions. As with visualization, mental rather than astral projection is most likely.

6) Body of Light --The old Golden Dawn technique. Imagine a duplicate (mirror image) of yourself in front of you. Then transfer your consciousness and sensation to the duplicate ('body of light').

7) Strong willing -- Sort of like creative visualization experienced in the present. That is you express your strong desire to project through your willpower while you visualize yourself doing it.

8) The Monroe techniques -- These are a series of steps developed by Robert Monroe: a) relax the body, b) enter the hypnogogic state, c) deepen the state, d) develop the sensation of 'vibration', e) separate from the body. The Monroe Institute has developed some cassette tapes which are claimed to help in this.

9) Dream control --This is one of the most important techniques. It involves becoming aware that you are dreaming. There are several ways to do this. Oliver Fox says to look for discrepancies in the dream to realize you are dreaming. One occult student I know of visualized a white horse which he could ride wherever he wished to go. After a time, when the horse appeared in his dreams it was his cue that he was actually dreaming/projecting. Don Juan tells Castaneda to look at his hands while he is dreaming. And even the tarot and Cabala may be used as dream signals.

Another method is to tell yourself each night as you go to sleep, "I can fly"; then when you do, you will know you are dreaming. Once you know you are dreaming you can control your dream/OOBE and go anywhere you want. Repetitive activities will also likely influence your dreams. For example, if you are on an automobile trip and spend most of the day driving, you will probably dream about driving. You can condition yourself to be aware you are dreaming by doing a repetitive activity many times (walking across the room or a particular magick ritual, for example). Then when you dream about it, you will know you are dreaming.

10) Dream expansion-A variation on dream control. A dream may be *extended* by imagining it continuing from where it was when you awaken. Then it is just a simple step to 'astral project' by directing you 'dream'. Although all these techniques may appear straightforward, they all require effort. Astral projection is generally learned.

The astral world is the "ghostland" into which one passes after death. It is sometimes possible to visit with the dead, or you might be called upon to reassure and assist those who have just passed over (died) or those who are consciously projecting for the first time. Many spirits, elementals and ghosts exist in the astral world. The magician should feel comfortable there. Tibetan belief is that through proficiency in OOBE, you no longer need reincarnate after death. The astral world is extremely changeable and subject to your thoughts. Your will can control your movements in the astral world, and if you seem to be going somewhere non-volitionally ('astral current') it is probably your true will causing it anyway. You might also experience heightened magical ability while in the astral realm.

The Real Truth About The Golden Dawn

The Real Truth About The Golden Dawn Image
For years now, Robert Zink, I, and other leaders of the Golden Dawn community have been attacked and defamed on anonymously published websites, blogs, usenet posts, etc.

False, libelous, and terrible accusations have been made: that one Golden Dawn order is a Mafia front, that another Golden Dawn order is a Nazi front, yet another Golden Dawn order is a dangerous cult, that the Chiefs of another order are a bunch of "expelled losers," etc.

Some of this terrible defamation has even been "archived" on the website of a member of one Golden Dawn order and "linked to" from the blogs or websites of others.

I think we can all agree that none of this is good for the reputation of the Golden Dawn as a whole and it harms the ENTIRE Golden Dawn community.

What Can We Do To Help the Golden Dawn?

Is the question we should be asking "Who is to blame" or is it rather "How can we work together to end this terrible tragedy?"

And are these horrific anonymous publications all that is harming the reputation of the Golden Dawn as a whole?

Have we not perhaps ALL made mistakes that have harmed the overall reputation of the Golden Dawn community?

And should we not seek to find ways we can work together to turn this around?

For example, does it not harm EVERYONE when one order's blog says another order's leader sees the Golden Dawn as a "cash cow"?

But does it not equally harm EVERYONE when another order's website falsely proclaims the "Shocking Truth" that the leader of another Golden Dawn order is a "dangerous megalomaniac ascribing to a hateful political philosophy similar to the Nazism of Adolph Hitler?"

How does all of this look to people considering joining ANY Golden Dawn order?

And what about when people come to the Yahoo Golden Dawn fora and read:

... how one Golden Dawn leader is called a "dangerous Highlander or a Prince of Darkness."

... or another Golden Dawn leader is called a "sexual predator."

If you were on the outside looking in on the Golden Dawn, what would YOU think about the Golden Dawn as a whole when you read these things?

Let's set aside the common problems we face for a moment and talk about the "Real Truth" about the Golden Dawn.

The Real Truth About the Golden Dawn

The Real Truth is that the Golden Dawn is a noble and astonishingly effective Western spiritual system with a HUGE amount to offer for spiritual growth.

The Real Truth is that EOGD members are to be commended as a large group of extremely dedicated people working very hard on their spiritual development.

And guess what?

The Real Truth is that HOGD/AO members are likewise to be commended as a large group of extremely dedicated people working very hard on their spiritual growth.

And the same, no doubt, can be said about members of all Golden Dawn orders and temples everywhere!

And what about people like Robert Zink, Pat Zalewski, Sam Webster, Joseph Max, other Golden Dawn leaders, and myself (David Griffin)?

The Real Truth is that ALL OF US, without exception, are people who have dedicated ourselves to helping others grow spiritually and improve their lives.

But sadly, the Real Truth is that members of all Golden Dawn orders everywhere have a serious common problem today as well.

Because all of the endless infighting, fear-based negative marketing, bickering, and name calling is hurting ALL of us - and giving ALL of us - the ENTIRE Golden Dawn community - a bad name.

Now should we merely go on asking 'Who is to blame' and pointing fingers at one another?

Or should we not instead begin to ask: "How can we find new ways to work 'together' to end what has become the bane of the ENTIRE Golden Dawn community?"

I'm not so naive to think we can solve our common problems overnight.

But I DO believe in the Golden Dawn!

I also believe in the underlying nobility of purpose of ALL Golden Dawn members from ALL Golden Dawn groups and factions everywhere.

I believe that, as Golden Dawn members, we can transform our lives in a positive way.

And together we can transform our Golden Dawn community!

Has the time not come for ALL of us - in ALL Golden Dawn orders, temples, and groups around the world - to roll up our sleeves and solve our common problems TOGETHER - in a spirit of true fraternity and brotherly love?

Isn't it time to end this senseless bickering, negative marketing, and infighting once and for all?

A very wise man once said: "Even the longest journey begins with a first step."

And so today on the Vernal Equinox - a sacred day for all Golden Dawn members everywhere - I reach out to all Brothers and Sisters of Golden Dawn groups everywhere and ask you to join me in this simple prayer:

May the Lord of the Universe look down with favor upon the Golden Dawn...

And grant that our Bodies may be purified, our Souls nurtured, and our Spirits exalted...

May the infighting, bickering, and negative marketing between the orders come to an end...

And may this Vernal Equinox signal instead the beginning of a new era...

Of true fraternity and brotherly love between ALL Brothers and Sisters of Golden Dawn orders, temples, and groups everywhere!

So mote it be.Happy Equinox, Fratres et Sorores of the Golden Dawn - wherever you may be!

A Meditation On The Mother Of All

A Meditation On The Mother Of All Image
Come to your Shrine, open as usual and enter a basic trance. If you wish to open the Gate, do so, then envision the Earth Mother in the Gate:

- See the Mother of All, the Mountain Woman, before you. She is huge as a hill, seated with her back against the World Tree, naked, sitting with her knees drawn up, displaying her cunny and her round belly. Her breasts are great and round, hips and thighs mighty. She holds one hand raised, palm turned toward you, and the other she extends, palm up, as if in offering or receiving. Her face is beautiful, eyes kind and wise, and she smiles lovingly.

- Around her head shines a nimbus of light, gold and silver like sun and moon. Vines and trees are her gown, flowers and fruits her ornaments. Her womb shines and flickers with a light like moonlight on moving water. Every beast and bird, serpent and crawling thing are her court as the green of the world grows all around her. To gaze upon her is to feel the unconditional offer of her bounty, and also her challenge to the strong and to the weak.

Make simple offerings of grain or oil, or as you can, nine times as you recite this hymn three times:

Mighty Mother of All
Womb of Life
Source of Plenty
Soul of the Land
I make due offering to you

"(offering given)"

Because you uphold the World
Because you freely give your Bounty
Because you grant every Blessing
I make due offering to you

"(offering given)"

Queen of Sovereignty
I worship your Power
Mother of the Earth
I worship your Bounty
Giver of Every Life
I worship your Spirit
Earth Mother, uphold my work as you do the world
Earth Mother, accept my sacrifice!

"(offering given)"

Renew your vision of the Mother, and abide for a while in that vision. Then proceed, thus:

- Contemplate the wonderful being of the Earth Mother for a time. When her presence feels real to you, envision your own body, seated where you are, as lying within Her Womb. Become aware of your own body, naked beneath your garments. Feel the Mother appear around you, vast, your form an egg among countless eggs, kept safe and warm, filled with potential. Abide for a while in this vision.

- When you are ready, allow the whole vision, both the Mother and your own form, to shrink down and be enthroned in your own heart. Let the love and power and all-flowing generosity, the safety and strength and warmth be concentrated in you. Feel the presence of the Mother shining in you, within the boundaries of your seated form. Abide for a while in this vision.

- Finally, allow the image to grow again, until the seed-self is reunited with your material presence. Allow the form of the Mother to grow larger and larger, attenuating to become one with the land around you.

Renew your center, balancing all once again within you, and recite a simple ending charm, such as:

The blessings of the Holy Ones be on me and mine
My blessings on all beings, with peace on thee and thine
The Fire, the Well, the Sacred Tree
Flow and Flame and Grow in me
Thus do I remember the work of the Wise.

Magick 01 Why Magick

Magick 01 Why Magick Cover
The ability to think seems to set us apart from other creatures. And although we are concerned with living in the physical world, we are mental beings. The fact is we are thinking all the time. We plan, we brood, we get depressed or elated -- all of it is thought. But the universe is mental too, and if we could control our thinking we would see magnificent results in the everyday world.

Many systems have been developed over the ages to help us control our thoughts. A great amount of dogma too has been kicked around in an attempt to make us into better people. Magick (the occult kind, spelled with a 'k') is one of the oldest and most general of these systems. Magick is the study and application of psychic forces. It uses mental training, concentration, and a system of symbols to program the mind. The purpose of magick is to alter the self and the environment according to the will.

Most of the magick we see today comes to us from ancient Egypt and Chaldea. The Chinese, Hindus, and Tibetans developed their own unique types of magick. Western magick was locked up by the Egyptian priests for thousands of years and then suppressed by the rise of Christianity. It was not until medieval Europe that magical knowledge was rediscovered by the alchemists and Cabalists. Only during the past hundred years or so has western culture been open minded enough to permit widespread investigation of the subject. Only since the start of the twentieth century has science shown much interest in it al all.

Parapsychology And Spychic Phenomena

Through parapsychology, we are gaining insights into the hidden nature of man. Parapsy-chology is a branch of psychology which studies psychic phenomena. It remains some-thing of a frontier, even today. Perhaps one reason for this is that psychic phenomena are somewhat inconsistent. Nevertheless, there is strong evidence from numerous cases and experiments in support of psychic phenomena. Somehow, under the right conditions, the mind can directly affect the environment.

We may theorize that the human mind and body broadcasts a kind of psychic energy or force, much like a radio station. Kirlian photography, temperature effects, cloud chamber tests, and other experiments tend to support this theory. Although the exact nature of this psychic force is subtle and unknown, it is undoubtedly the energy behind all psychic phenomena and magick. However, it is *not* a radio wave, since it behaves somewhat differently. The psychic force is too weak to be measured directly (at least so far as we know). Everyone has some psychic ability. There are numerous types of psychic pheno-mena. Parapsychology separates them into two groups: ESP and PK...

Examples Of ESP

ESP, the abbreviation for extra sensory perception, means the reception of information through paranormal means (i.e. not regular physical senses of sight, sound, touch, smell, or taste). In theory, this is accomplished by receiving psychic force from outside the body. Here are some examples of ESP:

1) Clairvoyance, or Remote Viewing--the ability to sense or 'see' (non-physically) distant objects, places, and people. Individuals who see ghosts and spirits are probably clairvoyant.

2) Clairaudience, or remote hearing -- the 'hearing' of paranormal information.

3) Astral Projection (OOBE) or Traveling Clairvoyance-Full experience at a remote location while the physical body sleeps.

4) Psychometry -- the reading of information by the touch of physical objects.

5) Telepathic receiver--the ability to directly receive thought (communication) at a distance, with no physical connection to the sender. There are many everyday examples of this, in which we think something just as another person is about to say it. This is an easy one to test for through experiment. Very dramatic cases of telepathy have been recorded; there is often an emotional element in such cases.

6) A 'channel' or medium, as in a seance, who is indirect communication with a 'spirit' or entity.

7) Experience with a Ouija board, pendulum, or automatic writing.

8) Precognition--to foresee the future. Again, highly emotional events are the ones most likely to be 'tuned in'.

9) Retrocognition-knowledge of the past, by paranormal means.

Examples Of PK

PK, the abbreviation for psychokinesis, is the active or sending side of psychic phenomena. The theory here is that psychic force is sent out from the individual. Examples of PK include:

1) Telepathic sender -the transmitter in the telepathy just discussed.

2) Psychokinesis (or telekinesis) proper-the ability to move objects by means of psychic force.

3) Somewhat along the same lines are poltergeist (noisy ghost) phenomena in which objects move of their own accord or noises are heard. There is always a human agent involved -- frequently a teenage girl -- who appears to be the source of psychic energy.

4) Psychic healing-the ability to heal various illnesses and infirmities. There are many documented cases of this. Usually it involves a healer and a subject, although there are recent cases involving cancer patients learning to heal themselves.

5) Teleportation, apportation, and levitation. Some occultists feel a magician producing PK effects is simply a channel for universal energy. Others think the force originates some way directly within the magician.

The Subconscious

Postulated by Freud and others, the concept of the subconscious mind is an important one. Basically, this is the idea that part of the mind normally operates below or outside of ordinary consciousness and awareness. Dreams and hypnosis are examples of this. Also subconscious are the many automatic functions of the physical body such as respiration and digestion.

Why Do Magick?

Magick encompasses many things-science and art, philosophy and metaphysics, psychology and comparative religion. Magick is an adventure at the borderlands of the unknown. It can fit the pieces of the puzzle of life into a meaningful whole.

*Magick is fun* and interesting. Use magick to help raise consciousness without drugs. Gain new experiences. Fantasy can come alive through magick. Psychic phenomena can be controlled and be fun and helpful.

*Magick is beneficial*. It can help you to have excellent health, and bring you good luck. With magick life runs smoothly; life is good. Also use magick for personality improvement, to control bad habits and to develop new motivations.

*Magick is powerful*. Never underestimate the tremendous power of magick. Use magick to alter events and to achieve your goals. Exert an influence over people and phenomena. But power for its own sake is self-defeating. The power which magick can give you should not be your primary reason for studying it.

Magick And Witchcraft

A number of other occult disciplines are prevalent today besides magick. There are many cults and sects which profess their own views, but there are really few differences between them. One popular area in the occult today is witchcraft. This is far removed from the clichй of devil worship. Real witchcraft is a nature religion (pagan). Witchcraft has much in common with magick.

Alchemy also has much in common with magick. Its heritage comes from the Middle Ages. Alchemy fathered chemistry and the physical sciences. But the avowed purpose of alchemy, turning lead into gold, is too limiting to be called magick. Sometimes the goal of alchemy is interpreted in another way, as the transformation of man into a spiritual being.

Then there are the numerous modern day seers or 'pychics', as they like to be called, who operate within their own somewhat unique systems. Although many of these people are deluded frauds, some are very powerful occultists indeed.

Of course, everything I have said here is a generalization. Magick, witchcraft, alchemy, or any occult fields are complex subjects. Suffice it to say that magick includes them all (it is eclectic). For magick is undoubtedly a philosophy which has, as the late Aleister Crowley wrote, "The method of science -- the aim of religion."

REVIEW QUESTIONS

1) Define magick.
2) Define ESP and PK. Give examples.

Astral Projection Ability And Blood Pressure

Astral Projection Ability And Blood Pressure Image
Today I would like to share with you a "polar molecule movement theory" that was recently submitted by Mario Fernandez to the Astral Voyage blog. It's very interesting and I don't want you to miss out on it.

WHAT CAN ASTRAL TRAVEL DO FOR YOUR HEALTH

The following came to me in a sudden intuition, while attempting an astral projection in the afternoon.

I have read about Anne's conviction that projections are deeply related to magnetism. Admitting the magnetic field of the body pulls the etheric or astral body back, one should try to understand the source of that pull, in order to minimize it.

How is Blood Pressure Linked to Astral Projection Ability

Now, not all molecules behave the same, in terms of their magnetic properties. Some MOLECULES ARE LIKE LITTLE MAGNETS, while others do not show magnet-like properties.

The magnet-like molecules are the so-called "polar" molecules, while the others are called "non-polar" molecules. It is easy to check the difference between both kinds of molecules with a simple experiment.

Place a cup of lard and a separate cup of water in the microwave oven and microwave for, say, one minute. You will see the cup of water is boiling, while the cup of lard is lukewarm, at best. Now, the lard represents the fat inside your body (sorry about that), while the water represents mostly your bloodstream. The microwaves are nothing but rapid electromagnetic pulses that change the orientation of the tiny magnet-like polar molecules, many times per second. The more polar a molecule is, the more heat it will pick up in the microwave oven. Water is one of the most polar molecules in our body. Well, this shows that we should not care about our non-polar molecules, such as our fat, since they do not contribute to our magnetic pull. On the other hand, our polar molecules create a magnetic field around them as they vibrate or as they move around.

Why Do They Vibrate?

They vibrate because of their temperature: as the temperature is higher, so are the vibrations.

And Why Do They Move Around?

They move around because the water molecules in your bloodstream travel all around within your body, pumped by your heart. This leads us to two conclusions. First, projections should be easiest at the time the body reaches its lowest temperature: maybe between 4 and 6 A.M. Second, projections should also be easiest at the time our pulse rate is at its minimum, and thus the bloodstream movement is slowest. Maybe we should think of some ways to lower our heart rate without risk. Or maybe another aid-device could be designed: one that would wake us once a selected heart rate has been achieved.

When we sleep (or meditate) the heart rate decreases prior to a decline in body temperature (which reduces energy and thus magnetism) and allows for separation. I repeatedly tell readers that if they are trying to project, to "REDUCE ALL THOUGHT AND FOCUS ON THE THIRD EYE." A projector should also focus on slowing down their heart rate via breath and mind control. Just thinking of lowering our heart rate will work just as thinking of something sour will make our mouths water. The goal is to "deaden" as much of the bodily activity as possible in an attempt to mimic sleep.

The Grand Key Of Solomon The King

The Grand Key Of Solomon The King Image
Sitting here sipping my Latte, I was browsing through a gift from Ishtar Publishing. I received an advance copy of the Grand Key of Solomon the King. Solomonic Grimoires have a venerable tradition and no one has done more to popularize them in modern Western occultism than various members of the Golden Dawn. Even though they are not part of the official Golden Dawn corpus, they have had influence on part of that corpus and have been put to practical use by many a Golden Dawn Adept.

Most people are familiar with Golden Dawn founder, S.L. MacGregor Mathers' Translation of the Greater Key of Solomon. Even more well known is Mathers' translation of The Goetia, falsely attributed to Aleister Crowley as is also the case of Liber 777, a table of correspondences actually compiled by Mathers. In neither of these publications, did Crowley bother to cite their origin, but merely "borrowed" Mathers' work to boost his own reputation.

I have seen something similar happen in recent years when documents clearly stolen from my Stockholm apartment appeared on the Internet bearing the seal of an order newly created by one of my own former students. On a more humorous note, I have even been informed of Goetic demonic workings attacking me ordered by a Chief of a competing Golden Dawn style order - combined with watermelon-stabbing rituals :-)

In any case - for good or even for inept attempt at ill - Solomonic Grimoires are clearly part and parcel of classical Golden Dawn lore. What gives this particular new offering from Ishtar Publishing any merit that need concern a modern Golden Dawn practitioner?

First, I need to make it clear that the Key of Solomon is not really one manuscript or book. Mathers' own edition consists of excerpts from seven different manuscripts of the Key of Solomon. Not only were they different manuscripts, but they were also in different languages, such as French, Italian, and Latin.

Actually, there are more than 122 different Key of Solomon manuscripts in various European languages, including Czech, (numerous unpublished versions of which we hold in the HOGD/AO archives). One reason for this is that libraries tend to label any manuscript with emphasis on Solomonic magic as a Key of Solomon. In this vein, this latest source from Ishtar Publishing is indeed a Key of Solomon. In his own research, David Rankine makes it clear that the Lemegeton (Goetia, Theurgia-Goetia, Ars Paulina, Ars Almadel and Ars Notoria) are not the Key of Solomon, however.

The Grand Key of Solomon dates as much older than many of the recognized Key of Solomon manuscripts. This fact alone makes it interesting. Those familiar with my own book, the Ritual Magic Manual, are already aware of the great value I place on uncovering the earliest possible origins of hierarchies of magical entities, as these are frequently the least corrupted versions.

Moreover, the Grand Key of Solomon was written in Arabic, which is closer to Hebrew than many of the European languages. The incantations and words of power in this grimoire are clearly of Hebrew and Aramaic origin. They were written phonetically in Arabic, as it was the lingua franca of the day and, in the Middle Ages, Jews and Arabs inhabited the same geographical areas in Baghdad, Yemen, and Moorish Spain.

I have just begun studying this grimoire, so I am not yet in a position to do a full review. One thing I have already noticed, however, is the link between some of the names that appear in later Keys of Solomon and those in this much earlier edition. I can see how the names got permutated. One thing that amazed me was that even though we are familiar with demons like Amaymon (in Arabic Maymon) and Paimon, according to this Key of Solomon these are actually surnames. This indicates that for a long time evocations performed by European occultists summoned these beings using only their last names, while Arab magicians called them by their full names. Just wow!

I can't wait to try out some of the evocations in this book, including these earlier elemental incantations and the various prayers to Metatron. I'll update everyone with a more in-depth review later and the results of my experiments.

For those of you who, like myself, either have an interest in Solomonic magic, or who also collect grimiores, the Grand Key of Solomon the King is clearly a valuable addition to all of our magical libraries.

For Golden Dawn magicians new to magical Grimoires or to Solomonic magic, you can download copies of a vast number of magical Grimoires free in the Golden Dawn Library, which contains one of the most extensive collections of magical Grimoires on the entire Internet.

In the Golden Dawn Library, you will find available for download, for example, both Mathers' translations of the Greater Keys of Solomon and Lesser Key of Solomon (or Lesser Key of Solomon containing the Goetia). And don't forget to check out the Grand Key of Solomon the King here.
