Herbal Magick

There are many herbs that can be used for magickal purposes; I've elected to list only those that could be found in an ordinary kitchen or can be easily found at a grocery store or nursery. I live in an apartment, but I was able to make a small herb garden that sits outside on my balcony. Wooden window boxes are fairly inexpensive, as is potting soil. The herbs themselves were only $2 each.

Magick 01 Why Magick

Magick 01 Why Magick Cover
The ability to think seems to set us apart from other creatures. And although we are concerned with living in the physical world, we are mental beings. The fact is we are thinking all the time. We plan, we brood, we get depressed or elated -- all of it is thought. But the universe is mental too, and if we could control our thinking we would see magnificent results in the everyday world.

Many systems have been developed over the ages to help us control our thoughts. A great amount of dogma too has been kicked around in an attempt to make us into better people. Magick (the occult kind, spelled with a 'k') is one of the oldest and most general of these systems. Magick is the study and application of psychic forces. It uses mental training, concentration, and a system of symbols to program the mind. The purpose of magick is to alter the self and the environment according to the will.

Most of the magick we see today comes to us from ancient Egypt and Chaldea. The Chinese, Hindus, and Tibetans developed their own unique types of magick. Western magick was locked up by the Egyptian priests for thousands of years and then suppressed by the rise of Christianity. It was not until medieval Europe that magical knowledge was rediscovered by the alchemists and Cabalists. Only during the past hundred years or so has western culture been open minded enough to permit widespread investigation of the subject. Only since the start of the twentieth century has science shown much interest in it al all.

Parapsychology And Spychic Phenomena

Through parapsychology, we are gaining insights into the hidden nature of man. Parapsy-chology is a branch of psychology which studies psychic phenomena. It remains some-thing of a frontier, even today. Perhaps one reason for this is that psychic phenomena are somewhat inconsistent. Nevertheless, there is strong evidence from numerous cases and experiments in support of psychic phenomena. Somehow, under the right conditions, the mind can directly affect the environment.

We may theorize that the human mind and body broadcasts a kind of psychic energy or force, much like a radio station. Kirlian photography, temperature effects, cloud chamber tests, and other experiments tend to support this theory. Although the exact nature of this psychic force is subtle and unknown, it is undoubtedly the energy behind all psychic phenomena and magick. However, it is *not* a radio wave, since it behaves somewhat differently. The psychic force is too weak to be measured directly (at least so far as we know). Everyone has some psychic ability. There are numerous types of psychic pheno-mena. Parapsychology separates them into two groups: ESP and PK...

Examples Of ESP

ESP, the abbreviation for extra sensory perception, means the reception of information through paranormal means (i.e. not regular physical senses of sight, sound, touch, smell, or taste). In theory, this is accomplished by receiving psychic force from outside the body. Here are some examples of ESP:

1) Clairvoyance, or Remote Viewing--the ability to sense or 'see' (non-physically) distant objects, places, and people. Individuals who see ghosts and spirits are probably clairvoyant.

2) Clairaudience, or remote hearing -- the 'hearing' of paranormal information.

3) Astral Projection (OOBE) or Traveling Clairvoyance-Full experience at a remote location while the physical body sleeps.

4) Psychometry -- the reading of information by the touch of physical objects.

5) Telepathic receiver--the ability to directly receive thought (communication) at a distance, with no physical connection to the sender. There are many everyday examples of this, in which we think something just as another person is about to say it. This is an easy one to test for through experiment. Very dramatic cases of telepathy have been recorded; there is often an emotional element in such cases.

6) A 'channel' or medium, as in a seance, who is indirect communication with a 'spirit' or entity.

7) Experience with a Ouija board, pendulum, or automatic writing.

8) Precognition--to foresee the future. Again, highly emotional events are the ones most likely to be 'tuned in'.

9) Retrocognition-knowledge of the past, by paranormal means.

Examples Of PK

PK, the abbreviation for psychokinesis, is the active or sending side of psychic phenomena. The theory here is that psychic force is sent out from the individual. Examples of PK include:

1) Telepathic sender -the transmitter in the telepathy just discussed.

2) Psychokinesis (or telekinesis) proper-the ability to move objects by means of psychic force.

3) Somewhat along the same lines are poltergeist (noisy ghost) phenomena in which objects move of their own accord or noises are heard. There is always a human agent involved -- frequently a teenage girl -- who appears to be the source of psychic energy.

4) Psychic healing-the ability to heal various illnesses and infirmities. There are many documented cases of this. Usually it involves a healer and a subject, although there are recent cases involving cancer patients learning to heal themselves.

5) Teleportation, apportation, and levitation. Some occultists feel a magician producing PK effects is simply a channel for universal energy. Others think the force originates some way directly within the magician.

The Subconscious

Postulated by Freud and others, the concept of the subconscious mind is an important one. Basically, this is the idea that part of the mind normally operates below or outside of ordinary consciousness and awareness. Dreams and hypnosis are examples of this. Also subconscious are the many automatic functions of the physical body such as respiration and digestion.

Why Do Magick?

Magick encompasses many things-science and art, philosophy and metaphysics, psychology and comparative religion. Magick is an adventure at the borderlands of the unknown. It can fit the pieces of the puzzle of life into a meaningful whole.

*Magick is fun* and interesting. Use magick to help raise consciousness without drugs. Gain new experiences. Fantasy can come alive through magick. Psychic phenomena can be controlled and be fun and helpful.

*Magick is beneficial*. It can help you to have excellent health, and bring you good luck. With magick life runs smoothly; life is good. Also use magick for personality improvement, to control bad habits and to develop new motivations.

*Magick is powerful*. Never underestimate the tremendous power of magick. Use magick to alter events and to achieve your goals. Exert an influence over people and phenomena. But power for its own sake is self-defeating. The power which magick can give you should not be your primary reason for studying it.

Magick And Witchcraft

A number of other occult disciplines are prevalent today besides magick. There are many cults and sects which profess their own views, but there are really few differences between them. One popular area in the occult today is witchcraft. This is far removed from the clichй of devil worship. Real witchcraft is a nature religion (pagan). Witchcraft has much in common with magick.

Alchemy also has much in common with magick. Its heritage comes from the Middle Ages. Alchemy fathered chemistry and the physical sciences. But the avowed purpose of alchemy, turning lead into gold, is too limiting to be called magick. Sometimes the goal of alchemy is interpreted in another way, as the transformation of man into a spiritual being.

Then there are the numerous modern day seers or 'pychics', as they like to be called, who operate within their own somewhat unique systems. Although many of these people are deluded frauds, some are very powerful occultists indeed.

Of course, everything I have said here is a generalization. Magick, witchcraft, alchemy, or any occult fields are complex subjects. Suffice it to say that magick includes them all (it is eclectic). For magick is undoubtedly a philosophy which has, as the late Aleister Crowley wrote, "The method of science -- the aim of religion."

REVIEW QUESTIONS

1) Define magick.
2) Define ESP and PK. Give examples.
3) What is the subconsicous?

Astral Projection Ability And Blood Pressure

Astral Projection Ability And Blood Pressure Image
Today I would like to share with you a "polar molecule movement theory" that was recently submitted by Mario Fernandez to the Astral Voyage blog. It's very interesting and I don't want you to miss out on it.

WHAT CAN ASTRAL TRAVEL DO FOR YOUR HEALTH

The following came to me in a sudden intuition, while attempting an astral projection in the afternoon.

I have read about Anne's conviction that projections are deeply related to magnetism. Admitting the magnetic field of the body pulls the etheric or astral body back, one should try to understand the source of that pull, in order to minimize it.

How is Blood Pressure Linked to Astral Projection Ability

Now, not all molecules behave the same, in terms of their magnetic properties. Some MOLECULES ARE LIKE LITTLE MAGNETS, while others do not show magnet-like properties.

The magnet-like molecules are the so-called "polar" molecules, while the others are called "non-polar" molecules. It is easy to check the difference between both kinds of molecules with a simple experiment.

Place a cup of lard and a separate cup of water in the microwave oven and microwave for, say, one minute. You will see the cup of water is boiling, while the cup of lard is lukewarm, at best. Now, the lard represents the fat inside your body (sorry about that), while the water represents mostly your bloodstream. The microwaves are nothing but rapid electromagnetic pulses that change the orientation of the tiny magnet-like polar molecules, many times per second. The more polar a molecule is, the more heat it will pick up in the microwave oven. Water is one of the most polar molecules in our body. Well, this shows that we should not care about our non-polar molecules, such as our fat, since they do not contribute to our magnetic pull. On the other hand, our polar molecules create a magnetic field around them as they vibrate or as they move around.

Why Do They Vibrate?

They vibrate because of their temperature: as the temperature is higher, so are the vibrations.

And Why Do They Move Around?

They move around because the water molecules in your bloodstream travel all around within your body, pumped by your heart. This leads us to two conclusions. First, projections should be easiest at the time the body reaches its lowest temperature: maybe between 4 and 6 A.M. Second, projections should also be easiest at the time our pulse rate is at its minimum, and thus the bloodstream movement is slowest. Maybe we should think of some ways to lower our heart rate without risk. Or maybe another aid-device could be designed: one that would wake us once a selected heart rate has been achieved.

When we sleep (or meditate) the heart rate decreases prior to a decline in body temperature (which reduces energy and thus magnetism) and allows for separation. I repeatedly tell readers that if they are trying to project, to "REDUCE ALL THOUGHT AND FOCUS ON THE THIRD EYE." A projector should also focus on slowing down their heart rate via breath and mind control. Just thinking of lowering our heart rate will work just as thinking of something sour will make our mouths water. The goal is to "deaden" as much of the bodily activity as possible in an attempt to mimic sleep.

The Grand Key Of Solomon The King

The Grand Key Of Solomon The King Image
Sitting here sipping my Latte, I was browsing through a gift from Ishtar Publishing. I received an advance copy of the Grand Key of Solomon the King. Solomonic Grimoires have a venerable tradition and no one has done more to popularize them in modern Western occultism than various members of the Golden Dawn. Even though they are not part of the official Golden Dawn corpus, they have had influence on part of that corpus and have been put to practical use by many a Golden Dawn Adept.

Most people are familiar with Golden Dawn founder, S.L. MacGregor Mathers' Translation of the Greater Key of Solomon. Even more well known is Mathers' translation of The Goetia, falsely attributed to Aleister Crowley as is also the case of Liber 777, a table of correspondences actually compiled by Mathers. In neither of these publications, did Crowley bother to cite their origin, but merely "borrowed" Mathers' work to boost his own reputation.

I have seen something similar happen in recent years when documents clearly stolen from my Stockholm apartment appeared on the Internet bearing the seal of an order newly created by one of my own former students. On a more humorous note, I have even been informed of Goetic demonic workings attacking me ordered by a Chief of a competing Golden Dawn style order - combined with watermelon-stabbing rituals :-)

In any case - for good or even for inept attempt at ill - Solomonic Grimoires are clearly part and parcel of classical Golden Dawn lore. What gives this particular new offering from Ishtar Publishing any merit that need concern a modern Golden Dawn practitioner?

First, I need to make it clear that the Key of Solomon is not really one manuscript or book. Mathers' own edition consists of excerpts from seven different manuscripts of the Key of Solomon. Not only were they different manuscripts, but they were also in different languages, such as French, Italian, and Latin.

Actually, there are more than 122 different Key of Solomon manuscripts in various European languages, including Czech, (numerous unpublished versions of which we hold in the HOGD/AO archives). One reason for this is that libraries tend to label any manuscript with emphasis on Solomonic magic as a Key of Solomon. In this vein, this latest source from Ishtar Publishing is indeed a Key of Solomon. In his own research, David Rankine makes it clear that the Lemegeton (Goetia, Theurgia-Goetia, Ars Paulina, Ars Almadel and Ars Notoria) are not the Key of Solomon, however.

The Grand Key of Solomon dates as much older than many of the recognized Key of Solomon manuscripts. This fact alone makes it interesting. Those familiar with my own book, the Ritual Magic Manual, are already aware of the great value I place on uncovering the earliest possible origins of hierarchies of magical entities, as these are frequently the least corrupted versions.

Moreover, the Grand Key of Solomon was written in Arabic, which is closer to Hebrew than many of the European languages. The incantations and words of power in this grimoire are clearly of Hebrew and Aramaic origin. They were written phonetically in Arabic, as it was the lingua franca of the day and, in the Middle Ages, Jews and Arabs inhabited the same geographical areas in Baghdad, Yemen, and Moorish Spain.

I have just begun studying this grimoire, so I am not yet in a position to do a full review. One thing I have already noticed, however, is the link between some of the names that appear in later Keys of Solomon and those in this much earlier edition. I can see how the names got permutated. One thing that amazed me was that even though we are familiar with demons like Amaymon (in Arabic Maymon) and Paimon, according to this Key of Solomon these are actually surnames. This indicates that for a long time evocations performed by European occultists summoned these beings using only their last names, while Arab magicians called them by their full names. Just wow!

I can't wait to try out some of the evocations in this book, including these earlier elemental incantations and the various prayers to Metatron. I'll update everyone with a more in-depth review later and the results of my experiments.

For those of you who, like myself, either have an interest in Solomonic magic, or who also collect grimiores, the Grand Key of Solomon the King is clearly a valuable addition to all of our magical libraries.

For Golden Dawn magicians new to magical Grimoires or to Solomonic magic, you can download copies of a vast number of magical Grimoires free in the Golden Dawn Library, which contains one of the most extensive collections of magical Grimoires on the entire Internet.

In the Golden Dawn Library, you will find available for download, for example, both Mathers' translations of the Greater Keys of Solomon and Lesser Key of Solomon (or Lesser Key of Solomon containing the Goetia). And don't forget to check out the Grand Key of Solomon the King here.

Nick Farrell And Sam Scarborough Vs Robert Zink On Astral Initiation

Nick Farrell And Sam Scarborough Vs Robert Zink On Astral Initiation Image
New Age marketer, Robert Zink today wrote on his EOGD blog:"The mystical community was shocked when a recent attempt to prove that astral initiation is not valid failed on another blog...I think a more productive path of the HOGD/AO would simply be to offer astral initiation. They are already providing the grade materials in a vending machine style format. This is significantly different from The Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, which provides complete astral initiation to people who cannot travel to a local temple."Despite Bob Zink's misrepresentation, the Rosicrucian Order of Alpha et Omega, and our outer order the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, obviously have never been handing out grades like a vending machine. In fact, our curriculum is the most demanding of any Golden Dawn order, since, unlike other Golden Dawn orders, our members learn and practice the entire original R.R. et A. C. magick already our outer order, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. I personally believe that the HOGD/AO is the best and most thorough school of ritual magic that exists in the world today.

The HOGD/AO remains firmly committed to peace and harmony in the Golden Dawn community. Therefore, regardless how many old misrepresentations and attacks on our order Bob republishes, he is going to have wage his "one man flame war" all by himself. This does not mean, however, that our order will not at least refute Bob's attacks. As Bob continues to recycle old misrepresentations, we will simply recycle old refutations as well.

Let us, therefore, examine what Golden Dawn scholars have said about the New Age initiation Bob Zink invented to replace traditional Golden Dawn initiation, that Bob calls "astral" or "long distance" initiation. Scholars have repeatedly challenged Rob Zink to engage in meaningful debate and to back up his wild claims about New Age "astral" initiation. Instead, he merely repeats his talking points over and over, "slick ad" style, like a late night "Million Dollar Bob" infomercial.

In a nutshell, Bob Zink claims that, for a mere 200, he can wave his magic wand and, "Poof!," make you a "full Golden Dawn initiate" from the comfort of your living room arm chair.

In an old article, "Invoke Logic to Understand the Truth about Astral Initiation, Bob Zink again set forth his whole gamut of talking points and wierd claims about "astral" initiation. Let us review how Bob's claims have been refuted by respected scholars from across the entire spectrum the Golden Dawn community.

Bob Zink wrote:"There is no record of [MacGregor Mathers] traveling to Germany to receive initiation from the continental adepts! He was either self-initiated because there were no continental adepts of the Rose Cross, or He was Astral Initiated...... MacGregor Mathers and Monia Mathers... initiated ASTRAL INITIATION in the United States shortly before MacGregor death and Monia Mathers carried it out for many years."Robert Zink has been challenged, over and over, to provide even a single shred of historical evidence to support these weird assertions. Golden Dawn scholar, Samuel Scarborough, however, writes:"I think of myself as something of a scholar on the GD as well as a serious student of the GD system. The same can be said for Nick Farrell or Imhotep, or several others that say that these astral initiations are not verifiable, nor were they done in the original Golden Dawn or Alpha Omega or Stella Matutina after the 1903 Schism in the regular sense. There is no evidence for "astral" or long-distance initiation from those orginal bodies. I disagree with certain groups that claim that these astral (long-distance) initiations were commonplace within the original Golden Dawn. I have never seen any evidence to support such a claim. Nor can I think that Westcott, Woodman, and Mathers received some astral initiation as founders of the GD in the first place either."Noted magical author, Nick Farrell (Chief Adept of the Magical Order of Aurora Aurorae), writes:"If astral initiation was used within the Golden Dawn there would be some evidence of it... If an astral initiation was taking place then where and when and why did it not leave a trace of paperwork? There are no records of astral initiations being performed, nor any members who are identified as being part of the Golden Dawn who had their initiations astrally recorded. Nor is there any mention of the procedure being used in the various editions of by-laws, nor any diary notes from anyone saying that they had taken part in an astral initiation. While we have access to many different GD rituals, there are no recorded instructions for how to perform one."Next, Robert Zink writes:"If Long Distant Healing works then the same logic applies to long distant initiation. Our early brethren of the Rose and Cross-often did healing and there is nothing written that it was only in person. There astral abilities were often directed at the whole world, or areas of conflict or sickness. If Healing can be done long distant, then so can initiation...... it would be ridiculous to believe that the same Order that teaches magic that can affect time and space in astonishing ways, teaches that initiation must be done within a small confined space or a rented Masonic lodge? This is not very logical."Contrary to Mr. Zink's straw man argument, no one has ever disputed that Golden Dawn initiation has an astral component. What all true initiates understand and that Mr. Zink fails to grasp, however, is that the astral body is rooted in the physical body. In true Golden Dawn initiation, the astral body is affected by a transfer of energies from the physical body of the Hierophant to the physical body initiate physically present in the same room. To suggest that this can be accomplished "from the comfort of your arm chair, watching television on the other end of the world" is a scam pure and simple. Let us review what other Golden Dawn scholars have said about this matter.

On Nick Farell's blog, Polimetis wrote:"Nick. You know how EOGD always argues that and Initiation is not Theatre and is all about the astral (forgetting, as you say, the importance of basic psycological and emotional impact!)? Well, actually, ancient Drama copmes directly from the Dyonisian and Eleusinian Mysteries, and Tragic Festivals continued to a sacred ceremony and a sacred experience for the Athenians, which is, actually comparable to intiation ceremonies (especially masonic high degrees where only a few of the candidates participate, and most are just onlookers!). I bet no one in ancient Greece could say that if the director mentions the name of an Athenian citizen that was out of town, before the perfomance of a Tragedy, would 'astrally" experience the awe and pity that the tragedy inspired, and the psycologically healthy Catharthic effect of actually seeing the sacred perfomance!"Next, Robert Zink writes:"Not everyone is near a physical Temple nor can afford the cost of attending a physical Temple. Should these people be excluded from the Light of Initiation into the Sacred Miseries?"Regarding Robert Zink's claim that "Astral" Initiation helps those who would otherwise not be able to contact the spirit of the order, Nick Farrell responds:"So finally we come to (the) point... that (Astral initiation allegedly) provides a person with a connection to a working group that they would not otherwise had. This is clearly true, but in my opinion any link would appear to be administrative rather than spiritual. A real initiation takes place when the person is ready."Robert Zink continues:"The cost of 5 initiations before one can be invited into the Inner Order is outrageous for someone on a budget. The average round trip air fare is about 500.00 the cost of Hotels will bring this up to about 800.00 and then there may be the cost of a rental car, add another 200.00 Plus food. So each trip to a temple will cost about 1000.00 or more."This is grossly inflated and deliberately misleading. In the HOGD/AO, we allow initiates to complete their grade work one grade at a time, and if necessary for financial reasons, to make only one trip to a physical temple location to receive all of their grade initiations at once prior to admission into the Second Order. Robert Zink knows this.

Then why is Robert Zink is desperately trying to convince you that his New Age "Astral" initiation is as good as the real McCoy? Because he wants to line his pockets with your money!

Clearly, Bob Zink shares the belief that P.T. Barnum once proclaimed: "There's a sucker born every minute!"

Sure "Astral Initiation" works - And this is my new Star Fleet uniform!

About Magick

About Magick Cover
Do not scatter your energy by attempting to do more than one magickal working at a time.

Remember that magick is the manipulation of energy, a thought is a form of energy and a visualization is an even stronger form of energy. Your visualization can be a method used to intensify further and direct your will. Your visualization can be the method by which you control the magickal energy you have produced. You must know what you want. You must see it. You must feel the high energy flow. You must direct it.

One of the most important elements in the practice of any form of magick is the universal law of cause and effect. This means that whatever you do (or don't do) you cause something to happen.

The most important consideration is the universal law of retribution. this means that no matter what you do, it comes back to you in like kind.

It is the nature of things that as you send something out it gains momentum, so that, by the time it comes back to you, it is three times stronger. If you do something nice for someone, someone will do something nicer for you.

"As you weave and
Spin your spell,
Three fold return
the tale will tell."

Donald Michael Kraig Vs David Griffin On The Secret Chiefs Of The Golden Dawn

Donald Michael Kraig Vs David Griffin On The Secret Chiefs Of The Golden Dawn Image

Donald Michael Kraig recently wrote:

"Recently there have been a spate of attacks on Regardie's book as being incomplete or not "the real stuff" leading to new books and claims by individuals to have received new information from the Secret Chiefs...In my opinion, these claims and counterclaims all miss the point. Real magick is not about some new secret ritual, an alternate correspondence on the Tree of Life or a variation on a well-known ritual that changes a word or two. Real magick is about what you do with what you have. And with Regardie's book, you have a lifetime of training and learning and practice...I've known some people who have tried to figure out the Golden Dawn and its techniques and given up in disgust, saying it was too complicated (complex, yes, but once you understand the complexities it's not complicated at all). Alternatively I've known people who say that it's too simple, but who have never ventured into the third or fourth volumes. I've also known people who have literally reversed important aspects of the rituals, knew they were doing this, but claimed they were doing Golden Dawn work. And, as mentioned above, others claim what's there isn't enough and are "receiving" new, more advanced information. I imagine some of these people will attack me for what I've posted here, and that's okay."(For the benefit of the uninformed reader, Donald Michael Kraig is well known in the Golden Dawn community as an initiate of a Regardie-based Golden Dawn order founded in Georgia by an OTO member/Lewellyn author in the early 1980's. Kraig's Golden Dawn statements frequently so closely resemble the positions of this order that Kraig often appears its de facto spokesperson.)

Care Frater Don,

Who is it exactly that has been "attacking" Israel Regardie's book? Is it, in your opinion, not possible for our two orders to disagree on fundamental philosophical points about the Golden Dawn, without the need to resort to calling philosophical disagreements "attacks"?

Personally, I fully embrace diversity in our Golden Dawn community and view both philosophical disagreement and scholarly debate as not only positive but as actually helping the Golden Dawn tradition to continue to grow and evolve. As brothers from different Golden Dawn orders, can we not agree to disagree without feeling attacked or wagging fingers at one another making wild accusations?

Has the time not come to leave behind old wounds for the good of the Golden Dawn community? - instead of merely not mentioning names while continuing to make sniping remarks?

Moving on to more important matters, I fully agree with you that Israel Regardie's Golden Dawn compendium is one of the most important books ever published. (I personally believe, however, that the Golden Dawn would have been better off today, had Regardie not broken his vows by publishing this material though).

You are correct that Regardie's Golden Dawn compendium contains so much magical material that normal people will never be able to fully master it. The book itself is certainly not incomplete. It accurately reflects the Golden Dawn as it was developed in 1888.

The fact, however, nonetheless remains that the Golden Dawn as it was then developed remained a truncated and incomplete system. The Golden Dawn was never intended to end at the relatively low, (5=6) Adeptus Minor level. The grade system is based on that of the Gold and Rosy Cross Order of 1777 Germany. You are well aware that the grades of the Second Order (6=5) Adeptus Major and (7=4) Adeptus Exemptus were never fully developed by S.L. MacGregor Mathers. Whether you agree with this or not, the reason for this is that Mathers was cut off from his source - as the Secret Chiefs were not at all pleased with what he had done with the 5=6 material.

The net result of this is that there are a great many Golden Dawn Adepts today who were initiated into Adeptus Minor (5=6) long ago. Many of these are the best and the brightest among us in the Golden Dawn community. These Adepts have mastered the published Regardie material (that ends at this minor grade) long ago.

Some of these Adepts have even been initiated into Adeptus Major (6=5). But what did they find there? In most Golden Dawn orders, they either nothing at all - or merely something that their local leaders concocted themselves.

Should these Adepts - the best and the brightest among us - really remain forever stifled in their initiatic progress at Adeptus Minor?

I do not think so - and neither do the Secret Chiefs of the Third Order of the Rosicrucian Order of Alpha et Omega. This is why they have finally released the material for Adeptus Major and Adeptus Exemptus that they had originally intended to release through Mathers until he botched the Adeptus Minor.

These materials complete the magical developments that begin with 5=6. I have given one example already of how this is the case in my previous blog, regarding the magical squares deriving from Agrippa and how they are still cyphered as included in the (5=6) Adeptus Minor material of the Golden Dawn. The entire original system is now fully revealed in the (6=5) Adeptus Major and (7=4) Adeptus Exemptus grades of the Rosicrucian Order of Alpha et Omega.

As I mentioned earlier, I believe diversity is a very good thing in the Golden Dawn community. If someone is looking for the personal ideas of Pat Zalewski, his order provides a valuable contribution to our community. If someone is looking for a personality cult centered around Israel Regardie, they can also find that in our Golden Dawn community too. The great news, however, is that if Adepts are looking for traditional Golden Dawn training that completes what they started learning in the (5=6) Adeptus Minor grade, the Alpha Omega is now making this material available to our Golden Dawn community for the first time in history as well.

I must admit that I am a bit surprised at how much venom has been aroused by this joyous new, however. Judging from all of the buzz on the internet, especially on certain Yahoo fora, one would think that the old Golden Dawn flame war had reared its ugly head again.

Rest assured that the A.O. is not trying to lord anything over anyone. We are actually performing a valuable service to the entire Golden Dawn community by making this advanced material available to all of the brightest and best among us - assuming that they can fulfill the same traditional requirements that have been in place since 1888 - and are willing once and for all to keep vows of initiatic secrecy inviolate.

One thing that has surprised me in this entire discussion has been that so many Golden Dawn leaders have come out saying that they do not believe that MacGregor Mathers really met in person with the Secret Chiefs in Paris in 1891 as Mathers himself plainly stated. These individuals are in for a big surprise in years to come, since the advanced teachings are very real and will ultimately be verified by Adepts from a cross section of the entire Golden Dawn community.

Meanwhile, the even the radical reconstructionist Golden Dawn faction is already finding it more and more difficult, in light of serious new academic research, to dismiss Mathers own statements regarding his physical meeting with the Secret Chiefs of the Third Order in Paris in 1891. The cynics and the sceptics in the Golden Dawn community apparently have not read the latest academic research on the subject.

"In 1891, Mathers was called to Paris by a mysterious emissary of the Secret Chiefs of the Third Order, known to him only as Frater Lux E Tenebris. Guardian of the mystery traditions of the Sumerians, the Babylonians and Egyptians, Frater Lux E Tenebris deposited in Mathers' hands the keys to access this ancient and secret wisdom. Once in London, Mathers has everything he needs to found in 1892, the Inner or Second Order of the Golden Dawn a purely Rosicrucian society called the 'RR + AC ', Roseae Rubeae et Aureae Cross. "Note that the above cited quote recently appeared not on a publisher's publicity blog, but rather in a highly respected academic journal.

Indeed, it is these self same Sumerian, Babylonian, and Egyptian initiatic mysteries that are now being further transmitted in (6=5) Adeptus Major and (7=4) Adeptus Exemptus grades of the Inner Order the Alpha et Omega.
